Fine by me. He is stale and smug like most of the BBC.

I hope it's all an act, but I have found the whole "I don't really want to be here" thing increasingly tiresome. And I certainly won't miss Maria's cough!
That said, I thought Alan and Mel didn't really work this summer either. Not their fault, but it's hard to bounce off each other when you're broadcasting from separate studios.

I used to like him on Channel 4, but his chatshow on BBC1 just feels like he gave up years ago, and he's quite sneering and condescending towards some of the guests. Time he gave that up too.

Well, that's that, then. More of a whimper than a bang, which is what happens when you leave for a rival.
I'd somehow missed the news that he is moving to Virgin, with a show on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. More money, fewer listeners and twice as long to pretend to be bored!

He certainly didn’t sound in the least bit sad or emotional from the bits I heard yesterday. Something at Radio 2 apparently doesn’t suit him. Long overdue for a change on Saturday mornings, let’s see how Claudia pans out.

No he really didn’t sound bothered at all. Mind you he’ll probably do much the same format over at Virgin, only for a smaller audience.
He appears to have more-or-less given up on innovating, judging by the chat show, which hasn’t had a new idea in years.
Which is not to say that it’s not an enjoyable chat show, but the format is definitely feeling stale.
