When I first saw Footloose I hated it more than almost anything else I'd ever seen, but over time the memory faded and when there was someone I wanted to see in the tour of the show I booked to see it again. Sitting in the audience looking at the stage before the show started the memory returned and I started to realise the horror I'd imposed on myself. Then, a miracle: a technical issue meant the show couldn't start. Fifteen minutes passed with no resolution, and then another fifteen. The box office began refunding tickets. I was thrilled.
And then they fixed the problem.

I'm delighted to hear that (though obv not delighted that you had to sit through it) since I plain forgot to go and came across my ticket a few weeks after the date had passed, thinking I might have missed something interesting. My my most embarrassing theatre moment was probably giving the stink eye to a guy who kept creeping past my seat throughout the show to get to the sound booth further down the row. He didn't take that as encouragement to stay either in or out of the booth for the rest of the act. I might have mumbled something slightly rude at some point. Only to to have him pop up to talk to me in the intermission, sweet as pie, apologising for disturbing me but there were issues with the sound levels in parts of the stalls. Of course he was the well-known choreographer of the show and I just managed a strangled 'Ah, ok then' before legging it into the safety of the foyer. |

My most embarrassing moment was when I, as an usher in a relatively dark auditorium, said "thank you sir" as I checked someone's ticket. Of course it was a woman.
She was understanding. I was absolutely mortified.

Not at a show this was going to see a band about 12 years ago. Standing outside the venue hours before it starts ready to get a good front row spot. So of course you get hungry and that. Go off get myself a sandwich and come back. I feel fine. Get in right to the front dead centre and have the first band do their set. Then just as the band start I was there to see. I start to get a stomach ache, I feel ill, I passed out and the threw up. Got hauled out of front row and sent to the back. All because of the sandwich I ate.
