I introduced a screening of this film tonight, and of course, the audience loved it. Does anyone know if this version was actually screened LIVE, or was it filmed live over a couple of performances and then edited together? Some of the close-ups suggested the cameras were on stage and not visible in the wide shots. I know it's often standard practice to shoot the audience viewpoint without intrusive cameras, and then on another performance have the cameras zooming round the stage. Great stuff, and it felt coherent. Great stuff though.

Riverdance has always been on my list of stuff to try and see live and tonight I finally managed to tick it off the list. A stunning show at the Liverpool Empire with both fantastic dancing and music. It was definitely worth the wait. Great use of a large video screen at the back of the stage to help set each dance or music number with projections.
