He'd never get away with a rose that colour on the right side of the Pennines!

My pet hate is when they're doing something that spins, and the camera goes around with them. It doesn't look impressive, because the dancers look like they're not moving, and the whirling background makes me feel dizzy! I agree. I think we've avoided that this season - I guess because normally it's a cameraman with a handheld camera who runs around them and that can't be done with social distancing. Looks like I’m wrong. They’ve just shown a masked cameraman circling Maisie and Gorka on Take Two. We have been warned.

Frustrating opening number. Why not do full and proper drag? The show has done it before.
That was an attempt to try not to offend and it was just annoying.
Bad make up really didn't help either.

I thought the Priscilla number was fabulous!

JJ - Charleston - a sweet attempt with some clean swivels and lots of genuine bounce.
But it lacked complexity.
Amy did well to try to mask his physical limitations.
Good but will it be enough?

Ranvir - VW - music isn't widely known by average telly viewers which will hamper her as people don't know the story or the context.
Too many spins. A very flat performance. Giovanni is a master of hiding the lack of technical ability in her dancing.
Dull and lacking in the real joy of dance. It was clean but uninspiring.
27 would be a fair score if there were 4 judges...

I’m tired of hearing about Ranvir’s insecurities. And Dave Arch and his singers made that song sound mundane.

I thought the Priscilla number was fabulous! I did! Johannes was loving it too! He was having a ball wasnt her. Was that Gorka as the drag queen in blue?

Maisie - jive - messy, messy, messy. Not because she can't dance but she sacrificed dance to quirkiness.
I really got no sense of the story or character. And not enough jive content.
Costume and wig were really bad.

I did! Johannes was loving it too! He was having a ball wasnt her. Was that Gorka as the drag queen in blue? I liked that they did the medley but they missed a chance to honour the original properly. Drag has been part of SCD before and they can do it right. The costume and make-up departments let the dancers down.

Bill - Argentine Tango - the music is just wrong for the dance.
The choreo was very poor and that is fatal for this dance
Bill is never going to convince as a dark, seductive character
That was just painful (made worse by some very poor singing)

Oh dear. Bill’s Phantom is dead in the vast glassy lake yet we have Michael Crawford giving accolades. Awks.

Harvey - American Smooth - that was full on. So much complexity. So much content. So much joy of dancing.
And seeing him in grey joggers training....
Given he can sing, he could transition to MT easily if he can act.
It was a real show dance

Loved HRVY’s Chorus Line routine but missed opportunity at the end with the choreo. We needed more high kicks.
Remind me, why don’t we like J Manrara? I lthink she’s great 😊

Absolutely loved that. Proper show dance. And I love a staircase. Agree he could do MT so well. Minor point. The song is called One, not One singular sensation.

I don’t think that Jamie routine represented the show very well. The title song isn’t always the best song.

Jamie - Jive - I wanted to like it but I really didn't.
It was fast. It was furious. But it was messy and lacking content.
He has come a huge distance in terms of his dancing. But it wasn't a great jive.

Watching 42nd Street this afternoon, then watching Strictly Musicals week was a bad choice!

Well that was fun, wasn't it?
Firstly, well done to Johannes, Gorka and Giovanni for having the courage to drag up for the Priscilla sequence. Johannes seemed to be enjoying it, didn't he?
Priscilla is such a great film, isn't it? For reasons other than the obvious, it captures some great shots and images on Australia.
All the costumes were suitable tonight.
Some of this routines were outstanding. (Again) HRVY and Ranveer. Waitress, another GREAT show!
You can tell when they judges love a routine. They're simply gushing!
I also LOVE Little Shop of Horrors! It's in my Top 5 musicals.
Personally, I thing JJ and Amy are in trouble/

I suspect Bill v Jamie in the dance off though wouldn't surprise me to see Ranvir slip down.
JJ may well get enough sympathy votes to escape

One of the better shows in a lacklustre series though also when the judges marks were mainly a bit more sensible, until HRVY anyway. I think it helps that songs from musicals just naturally feel more appropriate for the show than the forgettable recent pop songs they often use.
Great opening routine, miles better than anything their regular choreographer churns out. Good use of drag, in line with the musical they were referencing. From the sounds of it Johannes had a hard time growing up gay in South Africa so it's lovely to see the sheer joy he takes from routines like this.
Maisie and HVY clearly ahead of the rest but possibly won't have the votes to win. Bill, though he doesn't look as interested as he used to, and Ranvir clearly next.
Time for either JJ, though he was a lot better than I'd expected tonight, and Jamie to go. Surely Karen has used up all the dances where he can get away with just running around like a hyperactive toddler with no technique by now.
