New one on me tonight. Booked a show at New Victoria Theatre, Woking. Time on the ticket was 18.30, which I arranged my travel plans around.

Get to the gig, turns out 18.30 is the time the doors open, the show starts at 19.30. There are then not one but two support bands before the main act - who are on at 21.15! On a Sunday evening! I'd planned my travel around the show finishing at 22.00 at the latest, so now I have the option of seeing two supports and a third of who I actually came to see, or just go home now.

The time on the ticket should always be the time the show starts. Otherwise this happens and it buggers up your whole evening.

A lot of places ( like the Almeida e.t.c) are offering more streaming. But im guessing its a costs/demand thing    

And there are also plenty of local pantos, pretty much all indistinguishable from each other, so it's not as if it's limiting access to one place or only people able to pay West End prices.

Just had an email from the Lyric Hammersmith saying masks are mandatory when coming to watch the pantomime. I'm intrigued as to how many other theatres will mandate masks during panto season.

I find masks with a small piece of wire in the centre solve this problem for me, but there are also various sprays and wipes for glasses lenses that make claims to stop them fogging up. Never tried them, but I have heard that at least some of them work!

Some bloke at the start announced the chorus would sing in masks and the punters widely booed this obviously cancelled performances and death is more important.

Reading about all the cancelled performances (I sadly won't be seeing Cabaret this week) hats off to the company for putting it on as the performance must of featured around 150 singers and musicians.

I would say yes. January is always a quiet month even without the pandemic. Lots and lots of offers around at the moment for some of the big shows.
