Blake Patrick Anderson, currently appearing in Be More Chill.
Attended my first Leave A Light On concert today. Everything was smooth for a 45 minute set, with clear audio and Blake sat in front of the piano. Some songs he played and sung, others he just sang and had the backings pre-recorded.
He was very nervous when he spoke, but cute with it. No nerves when he sang. Boyfriend in the background making sure everything ran smoothly.
Blake likes plants.
He sang nine songs, primarily ballads. Lots of his own songs he'd never performed in public before.
Opened with the crowd pleasing Michael in the Bathroom, followed by two of his own songs.
Then Only You, by Yazoo, followed by another of his own songs.
Then Belief by Alexander Sage Oyen (his audition song) and another of his own.
Blake talked about his secret talent. He can solve a Rubik's Cube in two minutes.
Next Ashes by Celine Dion (Blake is a keen Celine Dion fan and has his tickets for the tour).
Blake finished with Starlight Express (from Starlight Express), his other major role, although he had to sing it in German as he didn't know the English words. Slightly disappointed we didn't get anything from Closer To Heaven, but it was a good performance for his first ever solo concert.
