Now that West End Does have a few concerts under their belt, I thought it might be worth giving them their own thread for any thoughts so far or updates on any future gigs.
I went to their first Animation concert (incredible line-up and a fabulous setlist for Disney fans), and their Christmas gig last year (I'm still not over Louise Dearman's version of Oh Holy Night).
Did anyone go to 'Love' tonight?
A few odd song choices I could've done without (notably Huey Lewis!), and no offence to the legend that is Alex Jennings but the poems were just dull. But everything else was pretty top notch. Kerry Ellis still nails Someone To Love every single time, and 'Your Song' was lovely. Marisha Wallace gave another stellar And I Am Telling You, along with doing Whitney proud with I Will Always Love You. Everyone did well really. Perhaps the biggest surprise was Rob Houchen and Ricardo Afonso doing My Heart Will Go On as a duet. That was something I didn't even know I needed, but it was incredible.
I know WED have done Bond and Halloween concerts as well. Looking forward to hearing what else they have in store...
