Harlequin said in week 1 they played a male lead in a musical. As people seem convinced it is Gabrielle, can you please explain how this clue can be justified/what it hints to in relation to Gabrielle as I can’t work it out. Presumably it was either Bugsy in 'Bugsy Malone' or the Beast: www.garston-entertainment.co.uk/artist/2088/Gabrielle/

A friend of mine has just told me her theory on the cryptic clue where Harlequin dropped something and couldn't pick it up...
it was "Out of reach, so far..."!

I don't think that's the same Gabrielle, according to wikipedia she's a 51 year old black woman!

Sorry - I was being a bit cheeky: you're right. it isn't the same Gabrielle. (Hence the winking emoji!)

A friend of mine has just told me her theory on the cryptic clue where Harlequin dropped something and couldn't pick it up... it was "Out of reach, so far..."! Yes, pretty conclusive if you ask me. I've no idea which male lead she played, but it's a Week 1 clue, so I wouldn't expect it to be something well known or obvious. Her Wiki page is pretty sparse, so it's possible she did a lot of stuff that isn't included, and it could very easily have been a school production or similar.

I was very surprised by the identity of the winner! {Spoiler - click to view} Joss Stone is about my age and from very close to my home town (Exeter) so there was a lot of talk about her amongst my friends when she was famous and I had no idea her voice was that good. I was expecting it to be an American megastar but couldn't understand why the accent wasn't more obviously fake.

I didn’t watch this last year but this year stuck in lockdown it became one of my highlights of the week. Best bit was the absolute joy that most of the singers seemed to experience in performing anonymously and how much fun they had. I know it was cheesy TV and some of it doesn’t bear close analysis (e.g. no one on the panel spotting Lenny Henry) but what a tonic it was every Saturday night.

I thought it was too silly for me so didn't bother with the first series, but glad I watched it this time round. I really enjoyed it, simple, fun and the reveal at the end was exciting. Morten Harket was a pleasant surprise, and some of them played the game well, such as Badger with the rocker persona and the fake accent.
I youtubed Nicola Roberts' performances from last year and must say I did not realise what a great voice she has. I must look at the rest of last years' singers.
BTW, I hear they are doing a dancing version. Now I love dance but not sure how that will turn out.

Another part of me really wants to get as far away as possible.

The tour is a good money making idea but if spoilers get out there it will totally ruin it unless they change contrestants/characters over

Has anyone else been watching the latest series? I am completely stumped this year! Yes I’m watching and agree - there’s no obvious ones that stand out to me (unlike Lenny Henry last year for example). A couple of my unlikely guesses are: Mushroom - Aisling Bea Lionfish - Craig Revell Horwood Rock Hopper - Kimberley Wyatt Not confident in any of those! The clues have been too generic so far and the programmes are far too long but enjoyable fluff nonetheless!

I got Gloria Hunniford straight away.
Not sure on the others but I have a couple of guesses -
Lionfish - Will Young Traffic cone - Russell Watson

Good guesses though, you've got me wondering about Lionfish particularly. I've got a suspicion that Traffic Cone might be an older snooker player, perhaps the shape they referred to might be a triangle rather than a cone. I was a bit disappointed with some of the clue reveals for {Spoiler - click to view}Gloria Hunniford... the James Bond reference because she's interviewed almost every actor to play James Bond!?! I'm very intrigued about Robo-Bunny, that must surely be two separate voices. I believe some of the international versions of the show have had multiple persons representing a single character before now, I think the music trio Hanson were featured a while back in the US version. Still, it's such a ridiculous show it continues to be a real tonic to watch. I like how they make an effort with the backing dancers to do a decent routine each time.

Agree Lionfish could be Craig Revel Horwood - or Jason Gardiner. [or Louis Spence?]

CRH did the Masked Dancer so would he do both ?
Which character gave a clue saying they were the first winner or first one. I know it was said about who SeaLion was but didn't someone else say that?
If it was Traffic Cone could that be Paul Potts?
David Seaman could be Doughnut according to some people and size looks about right heightwise.
Poodle looks likely to be some sort of Camp Icon. Paul O'Grady for his love of dogs has been mentioned and Rocketman was totally his teenage era plus he'd have the legs to wear the outfit. Although his sharp scouse accent was certainly very well disguised if it is him.

I'm not sure, but I think the Lionfish is Will Young, going on the Cabaret clue and just from the tone of the voice. Whoever it is, they gave a lovely performance of 'Nessun Dorma' I'm 99.99999% sure I know who RoboBunny is {Spoiler - click to view} Mark from Westlife, I was a fan back in the day and would his voice anywhere. He has a great falsetto. Plus, he doesn't like to/can't dance so being in the robot suit means he can't even sway. I have no idea about any of the rest. It's a nice light entertainment show, with a great reveal at the end. Nice to watch with a tipple or two.

I tend to agree there must be two voices in Robo bunny, one very mediocre and one quite a bit better. I've watched all the seasons of the US version and they do have pairs or trios etc but I think they usually have separate costumes. On one series they had 3 Russian dolls I think and two snow owls on another. I thought that Bagpipes sounded exactly like Greyson Perry but I think he's a slightly obscure person in terms of the types of celebrities they get on the show. On the American version, 99% of the people can sing, even if they're not actually singers and it's kind of annoying that the panel say things like 'wow, you can really sing' about someone who can only just carry a tune. But I still really enjoy the programme and am always intrigued by who everyone is!
