No news on a transfer, soz! I was gutted I couldn't make last Saturdays concert. Thankfully its back by popular demand this Saturday.

If Barney W returns to Bonnie & Clyde, I wonder who'll take Jack, if this is still penned in for "Spring"...

I think that he was the high point of ITW for me. Him and Little Red!

We talking top-of-the-beanstalk high? One of many highs, he certainly was a commendable Jack. His Giants in the Sky matured in a wonderful way through the run. I'd love to hear it again.
There really are so many cast members I'd like to see return to this.

Based on the new artwork, they have already chosen another first cast Clyde (I don't know who it is, but it definitely doesn't look like Barney), so between being first cast Jack and ITW and understudy Clyde with perhaps one alternate performance a week again, it would be a no-brainer? Or I'm being selfish, because I really want to see him as Jack

Less than optimistic at this point; from the chatter that’s been going on.

Less than optimistic at this point; from the chatter that’s been going on. Well this is very disappointing, if accurate. This is the one I really want to see and was waiting to hear about before I book my next London trip. Is this what you have heard too, danb and Being Alive?

Is this 'cancel culture' in action again, then?

It would be disappointing and quite astonishing if this production does not get further exposure. I would love to see it again.

Pushed out of the West End in favour of a musical about the Korean boy band?! Then I realised your BTS stood for 'behind the scenes', lol.

Well it’s definitely NOT going to the Phoenix that I know. A huge new play is booked to go in there next year.

I don't get the upset over ITW not transferring, it's not a given for any show to transfer to the West End and these shows are not meant to be try outs. I suspect the upset isn't specifically because London doesn't get a transfer, its more personal disappointment of not being able to see the show. Noone ever said "Im looking forward to seeing the west end run after the Bath try-out".People were under the impression there would be the opportunity to see the show in a location more convenient to visit. A trip to Bath in the summer holidays isn't feasible for a lot of people for a myriad of reasons (travel, work commitments, family commitments, etc) and there was real confidence in the view that they'd get a chance to experience it in London. As that view fades, there's bound to be despondency. Furthermore, this was a production that started it's life in London, so there was always a strong belief it would return.

Not to poke but is it new new or a revival? There's a few plays that are in limbo because of the pandemic such as the Jessica Chastain A Doll's House and Oedipus with Mark Strong but they wouldn't be new per se.

It’s a brand new play of an existing title.

It’s a brand new play of an existing title. Such a tease, have to say I'm happy to see the Phoenix used for plays as it's never solely been a musical house.

As that view fades, there's bound to be despondency. Furthermore, this was a production that started it's life in London, so there was always a strong belief it would return. Couldn't have put it better myself. The Bath run was always set up with a London transfer in mind and one of the producers Anthony Lilley had relatively recently tweeted to someone querying if there was a producer who could give it a London run something along the lines of 'it has producers attached so don't worry about that". Several posters on here were saying that a Phoenix announcement was imminent (although as an aside I am noticing these days that many things being said on here are not coming to pass or are proving inaccurate in the end, but hey, plans change). This was a show that I had tickets booked for at the Old Vic, was disappointed when it was cancelled, and I couldn't get to Bath within its limited run there. Am a big Sondheim fan and will be disappointed if this doesn't arrive when Sunday in the Park has already been binned.

Well it’s definitely NOT going to the Phoenix that I know. A huge new play is booked to go in there next year. I'm really hoping My Neighbor Totoro transfers from the Barbican. That is definitely a huge new play, even though I'm not sure the Phoenix stage would be large enough to accommodate that production.

It's possible that a transfer was lined up then fell through. It's not that unusual for that to happen.
