No, and we didn't need Summer either.

There are plenty of things that entertain people without being needed.

It sold well on tour. I tried to get a ticket when I was in Washington recently and it was sold out (and I wasn't interested enough to pay scalper prices or queue for returns).
Should well on Broadway. These biopic jukebox musicals usually do and there hasn't been anything fresh with that era of music for a while.

Been in previews for the last few days and reports are it’s a Jersey Boys clone.

But Moulin Rouge and Jagged Little Pill also got excellent reviews. I know they are next season. But I would be very worried

I saw this last week while in New York with my Mum and while it's very similar to Jersey Boys in its storytelling, the music and the cast more than make for it and I can see why it's been so successful. Could easily see it transferring to the West End and also being a hit here

That one was a shocker, it was doing fairly brisk business before the whole world detonated, unfortunately the Tina Turner musical will also be gone soon also. Sadly this is all good news for the MJ musical.
I thought it would be one that transfers over here and still hope it does.

I saw it in December and the house was good. Extreme side seats were empty but that does mean it's doing poorly when you consider how messes up the world is these days.

I heard ticket sales were poor once Adrienne Warren departed.
