It's a really funny story on how I ended up seeing this show. I had been invited to A Kingdom for a Stage on April 28th and Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens on April 29th, but couldn't make Saucy Jack's press night so couldn't see the show. I really wasn't feeling well yesterday and somehow managed to get all my invites mixed up. Despite having an awful headache, I made my way to the theatre where I thought A Kingdom for a Stage was playing, only to find out I had gone to the wrong theatre (King's Head Theatre), where Saucy Jack was playing. Luckily, after the long travel, the producers still invited me into the show to review it, on the basis I didn't release my review until after press night. I am so glad all of this happened as this musical was absolutely stunning! It's the most fun I have had at a show in a long time. The show has a really strong cast, with Tom Whalley being the stand-out, he was hilarious! Can't recommend this show enough, definitely a five star! It's certainly worth the journey to Islington. Is there anyone on here who had been to see the show or planning to see it? Will post my review here when it's written!  |

I love the show. I've seen both the most recent productions at the Leicester Sq. Theatre (or The Venue as it was before). I've got all the merchandise (apart from the mug).
Do you know where I can find the full cast list for this production? I know from pics it looks like Jamie Birkett and Kristopher Bosch are back, but who's playing everyone else?

I doubt it. Did they use a live band for the Faye Tozer production at Leicester Square?

If your a fan of this show I'd definitely go along to this production, it has a REALLY good cast! Looked for a list, couldn't find one, sorry! I will write out a cast list in my review, will put the review and cast list on here as soon as the review is published (for legal reasons I'm not aloud to publish the review until press night). |

If I'm not mistaken the production I'm the venue had a live band behind the wall where the bar was...
The version in the Leicester Square basement definitely used the backing tracks..
I never saw it when it was in its own club under London Bridge.. Or when it was in the Queens theatre.

Great review. So pleased you enjoyed it. Had you seen the show before elsewhere?
I'm looking at the website for tickets, I really don't understand the seating plan and can't work out where the stage is. Can you help out?

I was just going to ask the same question - I always avoid shows with cabaret seating as I go alone, but in this case you can't even see where the stage is - at least the St James Theatre studio shows you that. Why on earth don't they cater for those not going in a couple or group? It must cost them business!

Thanks so much for you kind words, d'James! I hadn't seen the show before, hadn't even heard of it.
Had a look at the seating chart and couldn't make any sense of it. I reckon you could get a good view from anywhere in the theatre though.
Showgirl, would you mind clarifying why they don't cater for those not going in a group?

What I mean is, you appear to be forced to sit at a table but have no idea who the other people adjacent will be. Obviously in a normal row you'd be next to strangers but table seating implies a non-existent relationship.

Oh dear. I really think the website could put people off. You can't buy two premium seats together? Maybe you can but the plan gives the impression that you can't. The plan gives you no idea where the stage is either.
I'll be there whatever happens but who knows where I'll be sitting.

I'm keen to book but would also like to know where the stage is and whether it's possible to avoid playing gooseberry to others. Maybe the reason for no stage being indicated is that it's like a promenade performance but where the cast move amongst the audience rather than the latter moving around?

The advice you get on the phone is absolutely useless (and they don't seem to care).
I was there tonight, the cast worked so hard. It was so hot just sitting there, they did amazingly, dancing and whatnot all over the place. Such professionals.
I am torn. I prefer some of the costumes from the last Leicester Square Theatre but on balance, maybe more from this production. Anna shouldn't have the dreadlock style, nor should Jubilee, probably.
I loved seeing the different takes on the roles and Jamie and Kristopher are just so perfect this time and previously.
I'm so pleased about the magic trick in this show compared to the most recent Leicester Square production.
However, some of the choreography on the stage itself is quite clumsy, and I'm furious about the simplification of the Glitterboots' routine.
This show is so feel good, just go and see it. Take your chances with the seats - no one there seems to know what's going on!
P.S. Hamiltonaddict, can you please double check, in your review, the name of the actor playing Sammy Sax.

No. Not seen that but it would be fun. Don't like the current choreography for the actual line 'Glitterboots Saved My Life.'
There is a twist at the very end which I've never seen before (and I'm not sure about it).

Seriously? Even the production at the 2 brewers had strobe 'clicks' ! I think that was the best bit of that specific production.
Living In Hell is definitely my favouite from Saucy jack. I'm intrigued to know what the twist is
