Looking forward to all Oedipuses. I don't think I've seen one since Adrian Noble's production at the RSC/Barbican, with Gerard Murphy. Yes it doesn't come around all that often (there's a reason for that). The last one I saw (Sophocles version) was Ralph Fiennes at NT and before that Alan Howard at NT (paired with Oedipus at Colonus). I've also seen the Seneca version. I don't think its a problem there are two productions happening, look at all the Macbeths we have currently which is a far more frequently produced play. The Robert Icke one has been on the cards since pre-Covid and Matthew Warchus will have been well aware of that when programming the Old Vic version.

Alan Howard was also excellent as Teiresias in the Fiennes/Higgins version. Looking forward to both these productions. Can't remember when I was last looking forward to so many productions in the big West End Houses - this, Godot, Long Day's Journey, Player Kings, Opening Night

The good news is that Robert Icke agrees with Peter Brook that the most depressing thing about theatre today is excessively high ticket prices. Let's hope he is able to convince the producers of this. We'll see at 11:30am. Based on ticket prices for his Henry IV my guess is that he hasn't tried that hard to convince the producers.

Are they selling the front row? (Hoping for discounts afterwards, would love to see Icke’s take on this, but the trip dates are not defined for me at the moment so don’t want to book blind…)

Are the £30 for under 30s on sale with this batch or will they be separate?

I think the closest row they are currently selling is Row D.
And I didn't see any under 30 tickets.

Nope I'm getting time-outs too. And they paused the queue earlier too.

Been struggling to purchase tickets for the last 40mins. Keeps timing out. Very frustrating.

I was in immediately but 30 mins on not yet got tickets So frustrating. Online early. Joined the queue. Endured the delays. It got to my turn. I selected the performance and then the system crashed. Back in the queue. 1303 users ahead of me.

Just to say that if you see the Time Out or whatever message, refreshing does work for once. At each stage (choosing tickets, putting them in basket, going for payment) it seemed to time out and there was an error message, but each time I refreshed and it worked - though often took minutes. I nearly left the site to start again three or four times, but thankfully didn't.
I can't see any special cheap seats - front three rows are not on sale, or they have already been picked up by early buyers (which I doubt). Again, there is the frustrating question. Do I book early to get the best £50.00 seats or wait in the hope that the front three rows will be that price or the next price up?

I've managed to get tickets into my basket but now I've been trying to log in to my account for the last 5-10 mins. Not sure what has caused this. Normally the website is well able to handle traffic of this kind. The last time I had issues with DMT was booking Van Hove's All About Eve.

How are people getting this information? I have an active DMT+ account but have had nothing. There was a pre-sale sign-up a couple of months ago. It's nice to have something for 2025 in the bag... Last time I signed up for a pre-sale, I was told that was the reason I wasn't notified of a slightly earlier DMT+ sale, so the advice was never to register if you were a DMT+ member and wait for the regular DMT+ emails. That appears to have been nonsense then. And now, as others have reported, their website is running like a dog and impossible to book on. I was thrown out at the payment stage. Refreshing took me to a help page. Backing up twice and refreshing and resubmitting form data gave an error that I had no active booking. And of course the seats have not yet been released back to inventory.

In the last few minutes, something has been fixed, because the website is suddenly running at normal speed. Perhaps they restarted their servers while I was trying to pay?

Sooo... My card was charged but then instead of receiving order confirmation I somehow landed on the help page that says the following: "We have been unable to take you to the requested page. To avoid any unwanted issues with your payment, we restrict the user from visiting any other page until the response is received from payment gateway". Has anyone of you experienced the same? Aarrrghh...

DMT’s website usually displays that if you return to the booking pages after making a successful booking (presumably so you don’t make a second booking in error) so your booking has likely gone through. Check your email / account order history as details may be there…

Some really dodgy coding by their web developers.
