Also people have to get on with things, or need to switch off, or indeed give up ..

Managed to get one yay. Didn't have much time to consider best seats, I hope I didn't go for a rubbish view on D row up in the dress circle. Anyway for £10 it is worth it...

I just got in (13:35) but only a handful of very restricted view side circle seats left. I passed...

Got in around half one, nothing good left - just the Bayliss circle benches, so I didn't bother. Congrats to those who got decent seats!
Edit: Spoke too soon. Unless there has been some massive glitch in the matrix I seem to have managed to get two middle seats together near the front of the stalls which suddenly popped up as I was refreshing. Woo!

Congrats to everyone who did get tickets!
Looks like they definitely are doing dayseats according to their website from 10:15 at the box office. That's at least a much more controlled environment than this has been, no hanging around unnecessarily.

Was number 1777, got in around half past one. There were very few seats left, lots of side views but I managed to get the last of the last row centre baylis circle. Lots of single seats were left when I got on though, so could still be a chance of some decent seats.

If I'm remembering correctly, weren't there more previews available with other productions ... I'm sure I remember waiting 2 1/2 hours and getting a slips seat at some point ..

Somehow got through after being 2201 in the queue. It kept throwing me out of all dates with error messages. Then i clicked one final time and managed two stalls tickets on the Wednesday!

Got lucky with the queue and have some nice stalls seats. I have a Dress Circle behind-pillar seat for later in the run that I'll probably sell off closer to the time assuming my calendar doesn't change and I'll advertise it on the noticeboard.

Good point I was trying to work out what view I'd get between Dress circle or last two rows of stalls and there were no photos on seatplan which was very annoying, I wonder why... it was my first attemp at the Old Vic previews lottery, maybe next time I'll be lucky with a nice stalls seat...

Starting to think this may get cancelled/postponed because of the coronavirus. Really hope not though.

Eileen Atkins is 85-yo. The production surely has zero chance of going ahead.

According to the Old Vic website:
"If you have purchased tickets to 4000 Miles, there is currently no change to the schedule. Please be assured that we will communicate with you in good time about your visit."
The operative word there is "currently". Chalamet will want to get home while he still can. Hopefully it will be postponed rather than cancelled.

I guess, strictly from a medical pov, there is just time for Eileen to step aside and for someone younger to take over.
I presume there will be an understudy anyway ...

If/when this worsens - make it when - no way is Chalamet going to want to be abroad, away from friends and family. I give this zero chance of opening on schedule in April.

Surely they cannot justify risking Eileen Atkins' health on the basis of it being a sell out production. I thought all over 70s were to stay inside for weeks and months according to the last advice?

The website has 8 cast members - the 4 main actors and their understudies. So I guess if Timothee Chalamet goes home or Eileen Atkins has to keep out if public then they're covered.

I doubt they'd go on with the production without its two stars. Putting on an understudy for a night or two is one thing, but they can't just replace high profile names like them with a bunch of unknowns and go on like that for the entire run.

Whilst I’m aware that technically I booked the show, not the stars, I would be devastated to not see Chalamet, and Atkins too. I know nothing about the show, I solely booked on the caliber of the actors.

Yeah I know everyone says you book for the show and not the actors but I think it's disingenuous to suggest that when you pay premium prices for a show with A list celebrities that you aren't expecting to see them. If Jake Gyllenhaal wasn't in Sunday in the Park with George I'd still probably see it just because I love the show but I know nothing about this play and booked solely for the opportunity to see an actor I'm a fan of perform live and I wouldn't judge anyone for doing the same for any other show. No one is necessarily saying that their understudies are less talented or the show isn't worthy without them (although I don't think that applies in all cases - you'd be lying if you said you'd never seen a show that wasn't carried by a particular actor and it might not be as good without them) but you come into a play like this with a pre-existing relationship (obviously not a literal one just that you've seen them in something before and follow their career) a certain actor and you want to fulfill that by seeing them in particular.
