(Not a typo, that’s how we spell “judgment” on this side of the Atlantic). Play by von Horvath, adapted by Christopher Shinn, directed by Richard Jones, performances from December 11 to January 11: armoryonpark.org/programs_events/detail/judgment_daySounds intriguing, although I’m a little leery based on what I have read on this site about Richard Jones’s directing (I have no first-hand knowledge of his work). I would welcome any thoughts. I find it off-putting that the marketing strategy seems to be, “You can’t afford to miss this play if you want to impress your friends”: the mailer is covered with quotes from the New York Times and Wall Street Journal about how the Park Avenue Armory “has become the home of the hot ticket” and is “adept at pushing the cultural FOMO button”. For anyone who’s interested, the mailer includes a discount code (PAA1219) which provides some relief from the otherwise very high ticket prices.
