Haven’t seen the show before but the cast is so amazing, I couldn’t resist. Paid £35 for a restricted view in the stalls so hopefully the view isn’t that bad, but even if it is it’ll probably be good value for the money!

Booked seat stalls F22 during previews when it's £35. Given I remember it was that price for Zorro a decade ago then that's pretty good going, given the general seat price rices in the last decade. Admittedly it's £45 after opening night. I was interested in seeing this at the Donmar but couldn't get a ticket so hope I enjoy it 5 years later.

I cant believe it's 5 years ago that it was at the Donmar. I could have sworn it only about 2 years! But then again, it been 26 years since it was at the Prince if Wales originally. That's scary. Where does the time go??

The Wilhemina Slater is coming to a stage in London with the wonderful Rosalie Craig! I’m there 😍

I'm feeling poor at the moment so gone for a restricted £20 seat the afternoon I see Sister Act. I couldn't resist that cast!

Well now I am glad Rosalie isn’t doing Company in New York. Thought she was great in this and will book again.

I had exactly the same thought, I told my wife it was about 2 years ago and she was pretty certain it was longer. It was good at the Donmar, must have been for me to remember it after so many shows in the interim period.

I have no idea what this show is about and frankly I don’t care I’d just love to see Rosalie and Rob in this.

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is doing it in Glasgow next spring--and their MT productions are very classy indeed. Cabaret, Street Scene and Sunday in the Park were all knock-outs.

I was just coming on here to post this.
As if it's not treacherous enough trying to avoid Kimberley Roberts in every other West End musical.
Seriously considering sacking this show off. Beyond disappointed. I've rarely encountered a more blank 'personality' than Nicola Roberts.

Ugh. The casting that no one needed or asked for... Another failed pop star trying to branch out.

I'm out until I see reviews. Sad that the lead role in a West End musical goes to a pop star making her stage debut. It will sell tickets. Maybe she will be brilliant, but I'll wait for reports, which I wouldn't had it been an established performer who had previously demonstrated the skill, effort and stamina to play a significant role in a West End musical.

This casting is just bizarre.
There’s a group of people that will want to see City of Angels There’s a group of people that will want to see Nicola Roberts (probably, I guess)
The crossover of people who want to see both? Tiny. If anything ittl put a lot of people off

I feel like they just cast these nobody celebrities and it's so bizarre. Is Nicola Roberts really going to make such an impact in terms of sales that it's worth potentially sacrificing a competent actor in the role? Is there really a big enough following for just one of the girls from Girls Aloud? Is she even well-known enough that people will know who she is by name/picture? I certainly don't and I'm young so this is like the era of pop that was big while I grew up (though it's not like I latched onto any of that even then).

To me it feels like they had a UK name too, that fell through, and they spent all their money on Vanessa Williams. So they panicked and got someone with no experience but a bit of a profile who I expect wasn't too pricy.
Weird and illogical choice though.

Strange choice, but Mallory/Avril is not a big part right?! I can’t remember if Nicola Roberts was one of the Girls Aloud who could actually sing (I mean, I only really thought Nadine could) but the main thing for me now is that I can’t see Nicola Roberts as being a big enough name right now that can actually sell tickets, which i guess is a factor in her getting the role. But maybe she auditioned and was amazing so I’m gonna try and not judge until I see it 👍

I have just about heard of Girls Aloud but couldn't name any of the members. Having already boked for Curtains, I suppose I'll just have to hope that she is vaguely competant and/or her role is small enough that it doesn't matter.

I’m keeping everything crossed that Stone isn’t going to be a “celeb” too. They really need someone who is a musical theatre performer for that role. The fact they’re holding back on announcing Stone scares me a little!

I’m quite surprised that she is following this path as she’s had a fair bit of success with songwriting for others, and her solo album showed real pop perfection promise.

Genuinely not meaning to be rude, but her album bombed. What success has she had writing for others? I can't imagine she's making any sort of a living from working in music unless she's got a successful publishing deal that I wasn't aware of.
