Just because the whole thing was muted cool matt grey tones and then there’s RC bouncing around the set with that amazing bright red hair, a clashing orange dress and very white skin. It was hard to draw your eyes away from her.

Sure - but that didn't bring anything new to the table beside the fact that it was actor musician. Everyone dressed like they were in '90s cocktail business attire. This production - which will March into Broadway proclaiming its limited run - has a lot more going on for it and can create a lot more publicity than the previous one (which was over ten years ago).

I was merely responding to the factual nature of your assertion that it is the first major revival of Company. It is not.
And the actors as musicians did bring something "new to the table." The concept and Doyle as director generated major buzz as Company was on the heels of Doyle's similarly staged Sweeney Todd (starring Lupone), a production that extended multiple times on Broadway.
The London transfer is no doubt going to also be quite popular for the other reasons you note. I enjoyed it several times myself while over on business.

It's very sweet of people to say that this production 'needs' any of the West End principles, but I really don't see it that way. They were all fantastic, but I don't think anyone was irreplaceable. Joanne always works well with a diva, or someone with a big personality, it doesn't have to be Lupone. If the producers are confident in the concept and the production (which I think they can be) then they don't need to start messing around with Equity deals.

Right. What makes something a "minor" revival? A 6-week stint at Lincoln Center, maybe, but a revival is still a revival. It's like being a little bit pregnant.

The BWW board was getting all worked up and convinced it was Katrina Lenk last time I checked, but that seemed to be entirely based on nothing. JM would be a great choice. Though I was hoping for a kick ass Lena Hall version if I’m honest.

And wasn’t it the case that Tick Tock was dropped when RC was off those few times? That's what I was saying, will the Broadway actress have to go strawberry blonde? But also I mean you could just have the red dress and an appropriate wig for whomever is playing the lead. Having 'decoys' look like an actor is done quite often and isn't usually referred to as a 'design', although I guess that scene really took that concept to the nth degree. I guess we'll see how things shape up when they get around to casting this critical role...

From what I've heard there's an announcement due end of next week.
They have a theatre (which I think we've already established) and they have a Bobbie (who's name has appeared on this thread)

For what it's worth, I think they'd probably rather spring for a new set of wigs than limit themselves to actresses who already have Rosalie Craig's hair.....

Hair transferred to London with the whole cast, so it's not impossible.
Whilst it's amazing it's going to broadway, I fear it won't have that spark that it had in London.
I look forward to seeing who's going to play Bobbie, and see some clips of someone else in the role!

It was just magical!!

With Lenk in the role, this Bobbie may well be a European emigree fleeing Brexit Britain who finds herself in Manhattan ..... well, stranger things have happened tho' I do feel for Rosie around whom the production was first built.
