I doubt it'll get any cheaper, I've never seen anything for Cadogan Hall at less than £15. I just want to hold out for a better seat though as it's currently offering level with the stage so would be very side-on. Oh right ok, do they do day seats at Cadogan? I’m seriously thinking about going despite putting it off for so long. I don’t mind a side view, as long as I can still hear Ramin and Celinde singing like angels I don't believe they do day seats. If you don't mind the side view, the £15 ones on TodayTix will be fine. I may have to go to the £25 ones on Cadogan's website if no other cheap ones pop up anywhere.

I treated myself to a £35 side view stalls - I’ve sat much further back before at this venue and the view was still fine, so I’m sure this will be a good seat. Only seen one song so far - I loved the music and I thought it suited Ramin’s voice perfectly (much more depth and tone rather than the yelping sound of his latest album, which I didn’t buy in the end). The lyrics were a bit “the cat sat on the mat wearing a snazzy hat” but hopefully that doesn’t reflect the quality of the entire show!

Thanks guys, I'll have a think. It seems like such a lovely venue, going to see Cinderella there in October. I suppose you can't be too demanding for £15 and a side view should be fine for a semi staged show.

I am at the matinee. Act 1 just finished and I am quite impressed. Ramin is singing like a dream and all the rest, other actors, singers, the orchestra, is also of a very high standard. If you can make a trip to central London, it's not too late to come to the evening performance which starts at 18:30.

If you’re coming tonight, buy a programme when you get here if you want one! They’ve sold out of the matinee allocation by the interval. Quite a few disappointed people!

I'm on my way! If any of the 2pm attendees could report back with the end running time that would be much appreciated 😀

Still plenty of tikets left for the evening performance. You would not want to miss it. The actress who played Tanya(Tonya?) was outstanding. I was in tears.

It looks as if more than a hundred people are waiting for Ramin at the stage door. I think the audience really loved the show.

Wow anyone going this evening is in for a huge treat, that was incredible. Very sweet all the little girls who were having their photo taken with Celinde at stage door.
Took me about 15 mins to get into the format as i’ve never seen a semi staged concert before and they’re not off book which i’ve also not seen but of course it’s totally understandable as there are only 2 performances. Once I was into it I was completely hooked.

If I didn’t feel like I was going down with my second cold in the space of 10 days, I might very well have hung around and got a ticket for tonight’s performance too.
Really enjoyed this - so lovely to hear Ramin singing something worthy of his beautiful, rich voice again. Kelly Mathieson’s voice more to my liking than Celinde Schoenmaker’s but I thought everyone was just right for their roles. Never heard Matthew Woodyatt before but would love to again - what an amazing voice he has. (Though I was tickled by the idea of a lawyer wearing trainers!)
It wasn’t flawless - orchestra/choir drowned out some of the soloists/small group songs. And while the narrator’s delivery was beyond question, some of her lines were so obviously “it’s Russia and everyone’s depressed and is now living in a shack drinking vodka” that it was actually unintentionally funny. Oh, and there really should be some sort of punishment for whoever rhymed “dwindling” and “kindling”. ;-)

Really disappointed I couldn’t get a program this afternoon. Bit stupid not selling people them when they had the boxes of programs under the desk. Hope no one wants them this evening and they are left with loads they can’t sell!

Wow I’m so excited now reading these comments. Only got my ticket yesterday. Going to start making my way down there now. And thanks for the comment about the programmes. I’ll make sure to get one when I arrive as I usually get mine at the interval.

They must have massively underestimated demand as the place wasn’t full this afternoon and it’s not like I saw loads of people carrying them round with them. Isn’t this the first major thing Ramin’s done on stage since he came back to the UK? You'd think they’d know his fans would want a memento/something for him to sign...? Also there was such a queue to get in - I barely made it to the ladies’ in the basement, then back up to stalls, before the concert started - so there was definitely no time to buy beforehand. :-(

Really upset with myself that I didn’t book for this. Do we think this concert may prompt a fully staged version somewhere?

Well, I loved that. Count me as another one who would happily have stayed for the evening had circumstances allowed.
I've been listening to this score since the first clips from the pre-Broadway production surfaced on YouTube (just checked and that was 2006, good grief how time flies!) Having been disappointed in the past with things that I've anticipated so much, part of me was a little wary - but no need. I've been a fan of Ramin's since Miss Saigon and he was every bit as good as expected, and the rest of the cast also lived up to that. I've never seen Celinde Schoenmaker before, but hope I will again, I thought she was glorious. Charlie McCullagh was excellent as Pasha/Strelnikov (and had some of us in the central stalls trying to remember what he'd been wearing in act one and figure out why he looked different after the interval) - one to watch, I feel.
The queues trying to get in were a pain - then as I was finally going in to the auditorium I realised they'd given me someone else's ticket as well as mine so I had to head back down to the box office. Fortunately I was there in enough time to do so - I hope the ticket made its way to its correct owner in the end.

Fortunately I was there in enough time to do so - I hope the ticket made its way to its correct owner in the end. Oh, I wonder if they were having problems earlier? Just as the choir struck up this afternoon, a lady scuttled all along the front row, asked a lady in the row behind a question, then scuttled halfway along the front row again. FOH noticed there was a problem and walked all the way to the front of the stalls to help. By that time Trinity Laban were trilling away pretty loudly, so the poor lady felt compelled to shout at FOH man: “Somebody’s sitting in my seat!” The pair of them then tried to move a group of people a few rows further back, but they seemed adamant they were in the right spot. Goodness knows what happened after that, because I realised I’d missed the entire scene-setting few minutes and thought I should probably be paying more attention to what was happening on stage!

I think I can add a bit to this. I saw the lady too, and wondered what was going on, as I hadn't heard any of the exchanges. It turned out she had a ticket for Row A (which I was in), so presumably she thought A was the front row. It wasn't. The front row was AA. She then started to climb along everyone in my row, but turned back after a couple of people, as her ticket was for the other end. She finally found her seat. It was a bit distracting! I did manage to get a programme, but feel somewhat guilty now. I had lost my ticket, so had to visit the box office to obtain a replacement. There were only a few people in front of me, and then I was able to go straight into the foyer/bar area. I noticed people had programmes, asked where they could be purchased and was pointed in the direction of the desk - and a queue leading outside. As I had my ticket in hand, I went up to the desk, money in hand, and was sold a programme straight away. Deepest apologies if I have deprived anyone of a programme! All that apart, I loved Dr Zhivago. All performances were good, but stand out for me was Charlie McCullagh as Pasha - I wasn't familiar with him, and hope to see him in more soon.

The composer and lyricist came on stage and said a few words each after the evening performance, which was nice.
Now I have seen the same show twice in the front stalls and front gallery, I can say I much prefer the latter.
I hope someone will bring this musical to the West End. It deserves to be seen in a fully-staged version and London deserves to have this musical!

I got a signed programme this evening with my premium ticket. It is very high quality but was on sale for a whopping £15 tonight and not worth more than half of that. Surprised they sold so quickly this afternoon. Wonderful show though. I'm disappointed it wasn't more successful in the USA ; several very strong musical numbers and a decent storyline. Deserves a fully staged West end run.

Wow the reactions on here really surprised me. It only lasted 3 weeks on Broadway. Big hype back then and then a flop.

Yup I failed to get a programme too. I thought the music was played very well although I must admit waking up this morning, the only tube I remember is Watch the Moon... It was an enjoyable evening and got a full standing ovation although I did get a bit frustrated with the narrator after a while. Ramin and Celinde were both astounding and there was a massive crowd outside stage door afterwards. Sadly neither Celinde or Ramin came out but Celinde replies to my Instagram message which was nice aha

I really hope this does get a more permanent London residence as I just can't stop thinking about it! As someone else said it wasn't without error, but it sounds like it was pulled together very quickly. The quality of the performances was excellent though and it's always a treat to see/hear Ramin.

The signed programmes were under the table when I showed my ticket and collected mine (included in the ticket price) but there were unsigned programmes on the table and the only price sign I saw was £15.
If they bumped the price up in the evening to avoid running out that's a bit naughty.
Another possibility is that £15 was the intended (extortionate) price and when it was realised that they had been selling programmes quickly for £8 someone decided to take them off sale till after the matinee.
