I'm now convinced! Will go to cinema for Cyrano- at least it will be a bargain compared to seeing it in person... Lehman Trilogy was my favourite play of last year (I saw it when it moved to the West End). Amazing piece of writing and acting

Right oddity, this. Thought I was going to be bored, ended up admiring if not actually loving a lot of it. 4* and worth it for the curious. Main plus is that it isn't some bloke blundering around the stage with a rubber nose. It's far cleverer than that all round. I saw this on Friday night, and loved it. I bought a copy of the text at the interval and just need the time to read it through. All of the performances were great, but I must admit my favourite bit was the moment when Cyrano is pretending to be Christian. James McAvoy's impersonation of Eben Figueiredo was spot on when reading the letter, and the staging is so simple but very effective, so that she has no idea of what's really happening. Tom Edden makes for a wonderfully hissable villain too. In the interval now and so agree. James McAvoy does a wonderful MLE (Multicultural London English) accent.

Would anybody recommend a cinema screening of this? I have never seen a play at a cinema before. I can't say for Cyrano, but I went to my first NTLives last year (The Lehman Trilogy and Present Laughter) and really enjoyed them, almost just as much as being there. Will have to catch an encore for Cyrano. Happy to report that i loved this at the cinema. Glad i gave it a go! It was a bit strange at the beginning but the play itself was brilliant so i almost forgot i was watching a recording. Have to say, McAvoy was superb, such intensity and passion. I wish i had had the budget to see this at the theatre and close enough to see the actor's faces. I highly recommend catching this if you can, if still shown somewhere.

Painful. Couldn't have paid that without vouchers. My fault, should have caught it early on first time around.

On Todaytix now, prices no better though. As we get closer to the time, how likely is it that rows A & B will appear as day tix or something?

I thought I read somewhere that there would have been discounted tickets for NHS workers, under 30s etc, but I can't find this piece of information anywhere – did I make it up?

I just saw an ad for this on Facebook and was startled by the prominence of the face mics. They don't seem to be skin-colored, and even the tape holding them in place is obvious in the photos. I don't remember seeing this before... I assume the mics would be less noticeable from the audience, but in the close-up photos, they're somewhat distracting. Did I just not notice before or are publicity stills usually done without mics?

The whole theatricality of the piece is very overt so there’s been absolutely no attempt to hide or conceal them. The same is true of The Seagull, I think.

I thought so too until I saw the evening referred to as first "preview" on the Jamie Lloyd Co. Instagram

2022 got off on a bad footing with Habeas corpus and Hex. Thankfully the outlook has now changed fantastically. JM is brilliant in this. I really couldn't take my eyes off him but then the rest of the cast are all rather great.
I loved the poetry slam concept and the minimalist staging. Everything aligned and worked brilliantly.
For those asking about Rush - Middle of stalls row F day seat from TodayTix.

Saw this tonight and this is an absolutely incredible performance by James McAvoy along with all the rest of the cast. Loved the style of it, the simplistic setting and the focus on the language. Got a single Today Tix rush ticket - £195 selling price ticket for £25 bargain! A8 dress circle. Perfect view.
