Ashford’s TV Show was canceled yesterday, so if Jake was waiting for her schedule to clear up to do this, now is the time. There are rumours of her doing Sweeney alongside Josh Groban on Broadway next spring. But it would be wonderful if it could be re-arranged.

Yeah I’m PRAYING those are just rumors. I really don’t want to see her as Lovett.

The rights to perform 'Sunday in the park with George' are still locked - even for amateur companies - within Greater London, so there's perhaps still a tiny chance that this hasn't been wiped off the realm of possibility... but I wouldn't really bet on it happening all too soon.

If this is the case they should just formally confirm it in a statement like the Old Vic did with 4000 Miles.

But they gave everyone their money back (or at least a credit) right?

But they gave everyone their money back (or at least a credit) right? Believe so, but the latest "official" word is that "Everyone involved remains 100% committed to making the show work when conditions and schedule align to make it possible." www.sundayinthepark.co.uk/If they definitely aren't going ahead with it then no harm done in coming out and saying it.

Interesting - sorry I'd assumed that when they refunded and credited everyone that the website had been shut down - bizarre to keep it open considering this is definitely off...

I spoke to Annaleigh tonight and she confirmed that this transfer will never happen. I told her I figured that at this point but still had the tiniest amount of hope that one day (maybe?) they’d be able to do it and she said that “sadly, it’s dead”.

I originally had tickets for this as a gift for a 'significant' birthday. Refund was obtained and used elsewhere, but somehow not the same. Oh well.

Yes I must admit my refund too was easily processed.
I love in London and at the time I had the day off work and booked my ticket through the box office.
It's my favourite musical and I had even booked a full priced ticket.
It simply meant that I had to go back down there again to present the original card used in order to process the refund.

I took a refund as well. I just knew that once cancelled it would happen. Such a shame as it would have been a memorable night.

Someone else is taking a bash at this instead...2024...more info soon... Someone else as in a famous actor in a west end production? or someone as in a venue (e.g. Chichester, open air etc)?

Even though I'm sad not to get to see this production for its cast, I can't say I'm mad about a new production if it means we might get something with more elaborate staging.

This and City of Angels are my saddest Covid casualties! Mine too. I hadn't seen CoA since the original West End run, and never seen SitPwG at all.
