God, I've a slot in August and I think it's between this and Sunday in the Park. Can't decide. Can anyone who has seen both recommend which to go for?! Sunday in the Park is strictly limited so I'd go for that one as I imagine To Kill a Mockingbird will be aiming for a longer run.

I do like rhys but not sure if it's enough of a 'name' for the West end.

Yeah, I like him but it doesn’t necessarily make this a must see production. I suppose they’re relying on students coming see it.

Well this puts me in between a rock and a hard place. I can see it this February while I’m in New York for a working vacation with Ed Harris. Or, I can wait until this summer to see it. To be honest, I’ll probably see it on Broadway because I like Ed Harris.

Priority booking access now open to DMT+ members, prior to public booking on Friday at 10am. Show is currently booking until Sat 8th August but I wonder if the plan is for an open ended run?

How brutal is the pricing?

Premiums £150 and £100 but plenty of decent seats at £75. Back rows stalls £47.50.

Yikes, I expected Sorkin words to be pricey but not that eye-watering! Friday may become a wait and see day rather than a day one buy..

I'm not a DMT+ member, but I could book today if I wished via an email link from Delfont Mackintosh, so maybe worth looking in your inbox if you're on its mailing list and want to book before Friday.

Rhys Ifans in the lead - at those prices, I’ll pass.

Bit confused how i managed to book this on the 31st oct... They had a presale for Preview Performances, running until 13 June or so, but this is the first time that the full run has been on sale. It's a bit Sorkin vs Ifans for me on this, I'm a big fan of the former, but not of the latter. And for a part that was cast in NY with Jeff Daniels and Ed Harris, I just don't see Ifans as the same type of actor.

I got the presale mail so managed to get something a little more reasonably priced than the top end. Nothing against Ifans but he wouldn't be my first choice. I still have fond memories of the Barbican production so would have skipped out on this if it wasn't for Sorkin who makes it a must..

Trying to think of where I can sit for prices I can justify... did anyone see this in New York? Would back of the stalls with the major overhang be problematic with the set or is it all at ground level?

I'm also puzzled by the casting of Ifans here. I'm sure he's a versatile actor and will make a valiant stab at this, but they really needed a venerable US star like Daniels or Harris a) to sell advance tickets at these prices and b) to credibly lead such a fundamentally American story. For UK audiences his image is too alternative and too Welsh to make him congruous as an upstanding Mississippi lawyer, and for the overseas tourist dollar he's just not sufficiently well known.

Dunno about the top of the stage, but I believe the way the main staging was on Broadway anything other than dead centre was a plethora of missing action.

I haven't seen the play, but I watched the 1962 movie with friends who had just seen the Broadway play. They liked the play but found the film, which they had never seen, to be far superior.

Just booked this for August. It appears to be selling well and steadily and I imagine will be sold out by the time it opens.
I'm very excited to see Rhys in this role and can picture him in it now.

I saw Jeff Daniels in this on Broadway. SRO behind last row of stalls. I was about center and it was perfect. Talked to others that were right and they said they only missed a bit of the jury. Saw and felt everything. I forgot I was standing. Everything was ground level or just a bit above

What does SRO stand for, please? sherriebythesea it's the second time I've seen you use it and I can't work it out so will have to ask now. I thought "SR" might refer to seat restriction, as in view, but the "O"?

I’m sorry.. yes, it is Standing Room Only.?Don’t know why they tack the “only” on there but that’s what they call the standing tickets here

I know what you mean, however-having seen RI at the Royal Court few months ago and been impressed by his skills, I think he'll do very well in this role. Had I not seen him live (and only remembering him from some films) then I would have been equally puzzled by this choice. I really look forward to this!

It was an incredible view. I could see every emotion on actors faces. And only $39 (so cheap for that run) it was worth standing in line a few hours
