I'd have thought that if you rated it 1 star or 5 stars you would want to shout from the rafters about how awful it was or how wonderful it was. Look at TripAdvisor reviews they tend to either love or hate a hotel. You seldom see people put pen to paper for a 3 star review.

Everybody can do what they like, I personally feel it lacks a bit of conviction to stick the boot in with a one star review without any justification; but you’re quite right. It is what a poll like that asks us to do.

Look at TripAdvisor reviews they tend to either love or hate a hotel. You seldom see people put pen to paper for a 3 star review. But equally it could be conceded that hundreds or thousands of people on Tripadvisor give 1 or 5 star scores without giving detailed reviews and they are not maliciously wishing to skew results but feel like it accurately reflects their opinions without needing to say more.

I agree, I'm pretty sure it's not against any law too. But on a chat forum if you're gonna have the time to give a score, you ought to be prepared to back it up. Many would love to know what makes the show so compelling or so dire. Otherwise, any old lurker or troll could skew the scores just for fun under a veil of anonymity, which I'm sure would never happen because everybody seems so rational and open to discussion on here. Ought to be prepared to back it up? People shouldn’t feel compelled to do anything of the sort if they don’t feel like they are happy to just give a score (which is what is asked for when it says ‘After seeing the show please give it a star rating’). I guess I object to people being labelled trolls or skewing results when it doesn’t tally with other people’s thoughts. You're at liberty to object to anything that anybody says, such is the beauty of free-speech. And yes, people should be prepared to back up scores that are on the outer margins, because there might be some brilliant insights that others can learn from the observations of others. Sticking a 1 or a 5 in the mix when there is no feedback of review to justify such a score leaves people wondering what was so great or so bad about the show to warrant it. Of course, people can just tick a box and have done, but with 120+ pages of commentary, it would be good now the show is actually here if people might be willing to justify a polar view.

I don't use Tripadvisor. Too many pedants, trolls and folk skewing the views with their 1's and 5's.

I think it (TA) brings out the worst side of people…Hyacinth Buckets bitching about paper napkins, a lack of coconut milk, cheap muesli and low thread counts.

I do find it strange that nobody on here has come on raving about how amazing the show is yet we have two 5 star reviews apparently. Of course people don’t have to leave any comments if they don’t wish. But if people genuinely see it as a 1 or 5 star show then I’d love to hear more from them. Don’t be shy I’d genuinely like to hear your thoughts.

Incredibly stupid and childish, but made me laugh.

But maybe it could use *some* dialogue?

Has she ever shopped for muesli or bedding? I very much doubt it.

Are there any special effects/transformations in this - any grreat stage magic?

But you can offer a score and a review OR a score without a review, no? Just as the Strictly judges could just raise a paddle and save us all half an hour on a Saturday evening. If it's Motsi, or Bruno at his most... excitable, I think I could live with it. (Motsi is a superb dancer and her scores are fine. I just don't think "You were fierce and I loved it!" is really that valuable in terms of feedback.)

You wouldn’t have to since it’s billed as ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER’s Cinderella.

Are there any special effects/transformations in this - any grreat stage magic? Nope. I was hoping there would be too. The revolve is the most magical thing in it.

Don’t be shy I’d genuinely like to hear your thoughts. Absolutely agree. I gave it 2 but, with now time has elapsed, I'd be more inclined towards a 3. Certainly, the views of others, and their insights, helped me put the show into a wider context, think more about what the creatives might have been trying to achieve, and see that certain things I didn't like may have been more to do with my prejudices or personal taste than the show itself. It's wonderful to share views.

Are there any special effects/transformations in this - any grreat stage magic? Not really. Though the front stalls moving to reconfigure for the ball scene is great fun and felt quite special to me.

You wouldn’t have to since it’s billed as ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER’s Cinderella. It’s fair enough. I’m sure that he has rewritten some lovely tunes for it.

Are there any special effects/transformations in this - any grreat stage magic? There's a clumsily executed makeover for CHF behind a screen. That's about it.

There's a clumsily executed makeover for CHF behind a screen. That's about it. I think she goes off stage for a few minutes to change. Then there's someone dressed like her substituted on stage to make it look like she's transformed much faster than she has (possibly swapping places behind the screen - I can't quite remember, but it was a fairly obvious switch from my angle).
