I enjoyed it quite a bit, I did enjoy the seats moving around and getting a new perspective for the ball. Carrie gets most of the memorable songs, and I enjoyed the opening and Sebastian’s big song as well. Not ALW’s best score but a lot to enjoy.

Wow - even ALW celebrating Carrie Hope Fletcher as one of his "leading ladies" has become fodder? And had he said nothing the complaint would be that he's a glory hound taking all the credit for himself. Seriously - I don't get people hating on the guy for being a cheerleader for his own show and the creatives that have been working for a pretty long time under some extraordinary circumstances.

I think it’s the quote “amongst my very greatest leading ladies” that’s causing the comments. Because that is a stretch, and then some. Celebrate her yes, but don’t be ridiculous Andrew.

This kind of over the top hyperbole, and being so loud and ridiculous in public, doesn’t go down well with Brits.

Nice to see the shows run has extended already. Will be interesting to see who comes in as Cinderella in a years time… the whole thing has been pushed and based on CHF, not sure who else would work in the role.

I think it's ALW show and he can say what the hell he likes about his leading lady if he wants to.

I steer clear of most publicity and discussion of shows and movies in advance. I strongly recommend this approach (although skipping film trailers at the cinema is quite a tricky art). Never knowing quite what to expect pays dividends manyfold.
And so it proved tonight at Cinderella The Musical. Having booked early and been re-booked six times, I finally found myself in the centre of stalls row C, knowing only that this was a different take on the fairy tale from ALW.
And wow! Wow! Wow! ALW may be a Tory ****, but boy does the man know how to put together a good show. I'm so jaundiced and world weary, I feared this would be a night of tutting and eye-rolling. How wrong I was.
This is clever; it's sassy; it's witty; and it's very funny. There's not one bad song, and the main themes are very catchy. There are top performances all round, but the Queen and Stepmother scenes are a masterclass in comic interpretation.
The icing on the cake was the second act seating reorientation. I had a smile as broad as the Gillian Lynne proscenium.
Special mention should be given to the superlative sound design, with every lyric, perfectly heard and placed, even when in reverse perspective. The richness of each instrument is reproduced authentically across a wide dynamic range: an utterly fabulous aural experience.
Together with Operation Mincemeat and Anything Goes, London has an abundance of five-star musical riches right now.
Act 1: 19:38-20:51 Act 2: 21:14-22:22

What are peoples thoughts I am hearing such conflicting views!
I know this is saying to me book a ticket and go but i can’t get on board with the dynamic pricing. It’s more of a morbid curiosity that I have.

I paid £85 for a Saturday night seat in the centre of the moving area. What is a typical price now?

Hello everyone Off to see this Wed. Covid-passes Can anyone confirm whether showing the actual lateral flow test is good enough for checking, a photo of it in the absence of the pass or do you need to go through the gov website With thanks

The New York Times reviewed it as well - a positive review, if not a rave

No one was checking on opening night, but when it comes to the LFTs, you get both an email and a text message confirming the result once you report it to the NHS. Either of these work for entry to most places that require proof of Covid status at the moment (so long as the test was negative!)

Nothing Covid-wise got checked on Saturday, but I didn't know if that was just because they were trying to get us all in as quickly as possible as the show was already running extremely late.

I went yesterday and there was no Covid check then either. That may be because the queue was round the corner and down the street, but I’ve seen 4 shows over the weekend and none of them did any kind of Covid checks either.

This is the least Covid-compliant theatre I’ve been to. Even before social distancing and legal mask requirements were eased, they were extremely loose with any safety measures in announcement and enforcement. So I doubt you’ll be asked to show anything, mask included.

I went on Thursday night and a member of staff was going down the queue asking people if they had their tickets and their Covid status evidence, however Covid status wasn’t checked at any point.

We weren't Covid-checked on Saturday night. About half of the people around us in front stalls were masked. Seemed to be fewer masks towards the back. I was earlier extolling the virtues of avoiding advance publicity and letting every theatre or cinema event be a complete surprise. To that end, do not look at the programme or cast list of Cinderella until after the show. I am referring to the return of Prince Charming from the dead, rather given away by the fact that he's a listed character. It is an unexpected turn of events, since Charming is not the object of Cinderella's affections in this version. I notice that even WhatsOnStage in their latest news piece about the show extending include that major spoiler. I've never understood why people cannot just keep stumm. Why spoil things for others?

I went on Thursday night and a member of staff was going down the queue asking people if they had their tickets and their Covid status evidence, however Covid status wasn’t checked at any point. Same on Friday. In the queue the staff member simply said "Are you negative yeah?" and that was it. The TodayTix email I got preshow also said you could just show a photo of a lateral flow test so I had one of those against my watch (displaying the date) just in case. But no checks in place regardless. I'm really on the fence about whether I enjoyed the show or not to be honest. Pros - Some really good songs. Bad Cinderella and I Know I Have A Heart are both so catchy - The revolve is used really well - Lighting and sound were brilliant - The Stepmother and Stepsisters are hilarious and have some brilliant one liners Cons - Parallel to some really good songs, there are some awful ones that sound like a 5 year old wrote them - I just can't get on board with CHF! Unpopular opinion but I think she's just... meh - The storyline is really problematic (though I've seen some love it soooo...) - "natural swearing" - I hate it when shows put in a curse word just for the laugh. If you're gonna swear in a show then make it natural
