The director couldn't hack it, apparently.

Official website is up. Love that the artwork is practically identical to the film’s, which will no doubt work well in its favour.

Matinees in Manchester will be Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. No performances on Mondays once it's up and running. Hurray for Sunday matinees!

I'm so pleased this is finally happening! Although the artwork does make it look a bit cheap IMO (I know it's meant to be recreating the movie poster).
I read somewhere that Roger Bart played Doc in a workshop. I wonder if he'd cross the pond for it?

I hope this will be good, Back to the Future is my all time favourite movie series. The 2nd film is my favourite one but I'm assuming this is just the 1st film ? I'm interested to see how they do the 80's scenes and then the 50's scenes soon after. I'll definitely be getting tickets for Manchester!

Getting some good publicity today. First BBC Breakfast this morning, with a pre-recorded clip of Olly Dobson singing, and now this meet and greet (if a car can meet and greet!).
Last I heard was Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service are trying to extricate an overly-curious bear who was able to climb into the DeLorean, but can't now climb out. Growls with a Sheffield accent, apparently.

Top two prices £82 and £65 for weekends. £70 and £60 for midweek
Usual theatrecard discounts.
Is £82 a record for a preemie seat in Manc? It’s even more if you have the nibble box!

Prices are a little crazy. Fighting the urge to get in early for a seat, but part of me knows there'll be single seats on heavy discount, like Mormon, 6 weeks before the show.

Front row of the Gallery (upper circle) is £13, even on Saturday nights. Thats a good compromise for a little person, like me.

Forgive ignorance of the film, but does it involve that car flying? I’m just wondering what big effects we could expect to see in this.

The iconic thing is the car leaving a blazing trail on the ground as it accelerates towards the town hall and then vanishes. Now that I'd like to see done on stage. Well Saigon's Helicopter should be unemployed by then, so front end shell of a Delorean replica facing out, c02, lights and up it goes to blackout.

I was wondering if they might be doing an Aladdin type thing with theno visible means of support.

I think Aladdin isn't touring because the mechanics being the carpet effect are too gargantuan to tour. That said, it is doing North America, but the money behind it will be obsene.

For me the opera house has to be the stalls - the extra ticket expense is offset with not having to visit a chiropractor afterwards. Definitely intend to book for this. Hopefully it will be great!

Got my tickets, thank goodness for ATG discount. Wasn't prepared to pay the top price of £80 though!

Just booked one of the £19.55 tickets in the Circle for the 1st Sat matinee preview. I sat in the Galley once before, it was an experience never to be repeated. I’m really looking forward to this though.

I've changed my mind on dream casting for Doc - I'd now like Peter Capaldi to do it, please and thank-you.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the car flew over the audience and then disappeared at the end. With Paul Kieve involved who knows what’s possible.

Flying car effects are pretty much sorted now aren’t they? I’ve seen loads on YouTube where the auditorium blacks out, a shunkly light gets bounced around and the car flies over the audience with no visible wires or anything. Elf did something similar with the sleigh at the end.
For those prices they need to get some of that money on stage.

Video online of Olly Dobson singing The Power of Love and he sounds sensational.
Never seen the film so know nothing about it but very excited about this.
If only I'd known what a stunning voice he had when he was in the Bat ensemble. Can't remember if he understudied (or went on as) any of the leads....

He went on many times for both of them. I saw him as Jagwire in Manchester (actually the first time I saw the show) but missed him as Ledoux completely until he came back as emergency cover while Gio was on X Factor. He has a fabulous voice, I'm so pleased for him getting BTTF. I can imagine he'll be wonderful.

Ahhhh having seen the show so many times in Manc and Coliseum I am sorry I missed him in that case!
