Could any regular BTTF theatregoers help me? I'm planning to book my parents to go and see this (in their seventies!) as they have shown an interest. They will travel down from the Highlands in December to see a few other shows, and I'm aiming for a Monday evening performance. I saw on the thread above that Will Haswell usually does Monday evenings (no bad thing as I think he is superb as Marty), but are there any other understudies that typically cover Mondays? I'd prefer my parents to see Roger Bart as Doc, as his performance really is excellent. Any advice appreciated before I go ahead and book. Many thanks.

I’m not 100% certain but I’m pretty sure Roger Bart does all 8 shows generally. Hopefully someone else on here can give absolute confirmation.

Have you booked in advance, ceebee. Roger Bart is taking a six week break from late November until the new year. Cory English is to play Doc Brown from 23 November to 3 January.

Nice to see this seems to be doing good box office and last week broke box office records at the Adelphi for the highest gross sales in one week.

Was taking a break from seeing it for awhile after 4 visits since last year - but now there’s a new Doc I’m tempted to go back!
I enjoy Roger Bart’s Doc but after 4 times his choices do get a bit tiring. It is funny to see his different line reads and trying to get the cast to crack, but it also takes away from a lot of the more heartfelt moments in the show when Doc’s at his lowest. A lot of the time it feels like he’s not playing Doc, it’s more Roger entertaining himself in costume as Doc.
I’m looking forward to seeing what another actor does, and if they’ll manage to humanise the character more

Saw Cory English as Doc in his first performance last night and he’s just as good if not better than Roger Bart.

I saw on Twitter that Ben said he has COVID that’s not COVID. So it’s likely to be a flu.
Does anyone know how long he’s been out?

I was thinking…Cory is likely either going to take over on the West end or be roger’s standby on Broadway. Doubt he’d agree to do the show for 6 weeks and that’s it…

Does anybody with good knowledge of BTTF know what pairing of Marty/Doc my parents are likely to see on Monday? I'm not sure if there is a specific pattern for covers. Thanks for any guidance!

Pretty sure Will goes on for Marty on Mondays, but he is in Rome right now so if he’s not back then it will be 2nd cover. I would expect Cory to be on for Doc.

So, im surprised, looking ahead a couple weeks i see BTTF - quite a few seats to say the least available for this. Heard 'decent' things about it. Choice of seats, not going to break the budget, but if youve been a decent seat? dress circle?
Would anyone have a rough idea of travel from Wemberly to see BTTF - around 6pm travel time - see if it's possible without too much rushing / and baring in mind reduced tubes perhaps etc

There’s usually today tix or official London theatre deals where you can get stalls tickets for £60. If you want to be immersed in the tech of the show then go for 2nd - 5th row. Tbh that’s the only places I’ve sat so can’t advise on much more. I have sat towards the end of the 2nd and 3rd row though and the views been fine.

thanks Matt, already got the tickets, a few shows seeing, so budget has to end somewhere, saying that still not cheap, bit limited really re seats in price range, but stalls around 10 rows back.
Thanks for details re travel, will note. Wonder if stage door? always a bonus, if easy to find/ or not worth it middle london, late at night etc
Thanks good to know re 6pm wont be too rushed then. So your directions are from Wembely then - must check it out properly.

So your directions are from Wembely then - must check it out properly. I think you've got a really good seat and needn't worry. The view isn't cropped by the circle overhang. I had sat in the stalls row B before - the stage is quite high and had to crane my neck a little to see some of the effects so sitting further back would be advantageous. The bonus to sitting in the front few rows is for a brief moment, but I don't think you'll be too disappointed / miss out much as you'll still see it play out in front of you. Depending on the date you booked, maybe you'll catch Cory English as Doc, which would be a fabulous treat. When I saw him, he had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand and made Ben Joyce break character. Edit: Not done so myself but I've seen plenty stage door for this show. Just turn right as you exit the theatre, take first right, and first right again (so you're at the back of the theatre).

Thanks Yoko for that, looking forward too it. Couldnt justify the 'middle seats' prices, just hoping no-one rustling sweets around us! whats the odds of that!! Invent rustle-proof bags!

FINALLY saw the new cast last night. I had no doubt Ben would be amazing but I didn’t think he would be another legitimate representation of Michael J Fox. He looks as much as Marty as Olly did but I think he gets the voice even more accurate. Plus his voice is a lot stronger so the songs sound so much better. He just brilliant.
I thought Amber was amazing too. And Ollie who plays George. Again, I thought no one could do George as good as Hugh, but Ollie is equally as good. I think Hugh still has that slight edge but only through how much he looks like him.
Cory was good, but I don’t know if it was a case of him just being good or it being a bit of a rubbish audience. A lot of his jokes fell flat or got minimal laughs. The audience only really kicked in in the last third. To me he seems like a good 6 week cover, but it was also great to see him on stage again after last seeing him in The Producers 18 years ago 🤯.
Also, we had Alessia on for Jennifer and I’m guessing she’s maybe 2nd or 3rd cover Jennifer? If she’s first cover then I have no idea, but she was brilliant!
I haven’t been since February but I noticed a couple of musical changes, I can’t remember exactly what they were though.

Saw it. Stalls note not much tiered. Even kids booster seat wouldn't help. Show is amazing g what a show with effects.....not liking ..no spoilers....but changed a significant part which involves the ending...but really...see this show. Yes it's not Newsies...and yes dances in 80s lorca and 50s songs..are a little....naff...but...overall it works well. Very well.
