Very little add here other than what others have said, but saw the matinee today having not seen it before and thought it was incredible.
The songs were amazing, the cast fantastic, and it was so funny. This has easily taken the spot of my new go-to recommendation when friends and family want a show to see. Just brilliant.

Saw this tonight and had SUCH a good time. Absolutely fantastic piece of theatre that gives me hope for the future of British musicals. Don’t miss it.

Saw it last week and loved it - great fun, some great songs in there too (a better score than some written by much more experienced composers), I was humming Making A Man and the sea chanty coming out of the theatre. Loved the cast and enjoyed the twist that their gender was irrelevant to the role they were playing. The start of act 2 really made me laugh, even if I felt awful for doing so! I loved the glitzy finale, but loved the very end of the finale even more and thought it was very touching.

Absolutely loved the show, Natasha's comedic timing is like no other! Her improvisation when the ceiling lights accidentally hit the floor last night was hilarious and had the audience in stitches. Though am confused with one thing: what is the design on their yellow-background poster supposed to be? I've been staring at it for ages and still can't seem to make out what it is. I only realised recently it’s meant to be Hitler I didn't realize until Felix scribbled in an eye and chin while signing my program.

The artwork isn't especially effective as many don't realise what it actually is See I think the opposite. I think they’ve gone for subtlety rather than “HELLO COME SEE OUR HITLER MUSICAL”. Also for the fact that hitler doesn’t even play a part in the show, he’s just referenced, I guess they don’t want to either turn people off or give them the idea that it’s about hitler. I think it’s very clever the way they’ve done it.

I hope they discount the tickets later in the run (or do Rush tickets), because I'd love to see this but don't think I can squeeze it in this month.

I saw Operation Mincemeat last night in its new West End home, after very much enjoying it at Riverside last summer. I can only really echo others' feedback on here, but once again I absolutely loved it. What a funny, fast-paced but also touching show with 5 incredible performances. I loved the new upgraded set but still maintaining its simplicity from a studio setting.
I can't praise this show enough, all 5 cast members are so well-suited to their roles, but I must give a special mention to the comedic timing of Natasha Hodgson as Montagu - perfection! I really hope this show continues to run beyond its current planned ending in July, as the show and creators absolutely deserve it. Am very much looking forward to the cast recording being released next month. Would definitely recommend to anyone to go see it!
5 stars.

Every time I open this thread, I'm hoping there'd be an announcement that dynamic pricing has kicked in or that tickets after April will be discounted. However, I'm seeing the same blanket pricing imposed even on the cheaper preview tickets still. Driving me crazy as everyone seems so enamoured with it Has anyone successfully used the link for the mailing list exclusive tickets? I tried a few weeks ago. It said promo code applied but the "discounted" price seems to be the same as full price.

They have looked at the pricing once it opens though...
Mondays and Tuesdays - £39.50 Wednesdays - £59.50 Thursdays - £69.50 Fridays and Saturdays - £79.50
This is vastly different from what we started with

I caught the Saturday matinee just gone; and I was laughing SO hard. Absolutely brilliant - five talented actors, this incorporated so many different musical styles as well. Blown away. Was meant to see at the Southwark Playhouse a few years back, had to return my ticket. Really enjoyed this! Natasha as Montagu is a star! I am so tempted to revisit - I caved and purchased a £39.50 ticket. My first visit to this venue; I will say the stalls bar is TINY! Hope they discount as I hope they don’t kick themselves in the teeth.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. It owes a nod or 2, to Hamilton and Six, but the whole piece is very well done. I felt it lagged a little in the second half pr maybe I was just tired from a long day, but I thought the ending was very touching. Jack Malone was the star of the show for me, his Hestor and Spillsbury was both wonderful and I loved Hester's song about the love letter.
I also got to finally tick The Fortune off my list of West End Theatres to visit. It seems like the coverings have been up over the theatre of years now, so it was nice to see the actual front of it again.

To me it’s just an alternative to pricing seats differently (and often arbitrarily). But not necessarily a perfect alternative!

I do worry that the pricing will be the death of this, if anything is. It's such a good show and I've told so many people they have to go and see it, but then they balk at the prices (which is understandable). I want it to thrive but I worry it just won't if no one's willing to gamble that much on a ticket to see it. So many people seem to be repeat visitors at the moment, based on what I've overheard at the interval and pre/post show, and based on the reactions to parts of the show that have been changing over previews.

Does anyone have a running time for this at the moment (noting it’s still in previews)? I found a single reference from the Riverside mounting which said 2h25, but everything else related to the film! I need to work out if I have time to get from the Fortune to Paddington for my last train at 22:45…

2h30 is pretty accurate at the moment. Just make sure you check whether the show starts at 7:30 or 8 on the day you're there!

If you've booked the 8pm performance, you're not going to make it to Paddington for 2245.

I think it shameful that all seats are the same price. £40 Mon/Tues, £60 Weds/Thurs, £80 Fri/Sat. Back row of the gods and front row dress sane price. I know Fortune is small but those seats are not comparable. ATG should be ashamed, as those outside of London who would like to see this are stuffed financially and it's not exactly an expensive show to mount either.

It's largely a new production, they haven't just moved the Southwark Playhouse set into the Fortune. Theatre is not cheap to make, despite what people like to believe.
There are days of the week where it is cheaper to attend. The top price ticket is £80 on a Saturday night. That is SIGNIFICANTLY less than the top price ticket for something like Pretty Woman or god forbid we drag up the Streetcar discussion again.
The original model of all seats all days £80 needed changing, but to me I see this as a good compromise

£80 is still a lot more than many people can afford, though. Once they're out of previews, there are no tickets for less than £40 (after ATG adds fees). That's awful.

I was an actor before I went into theatre management where I ran one venue for over 10 years including directing and producing. If you live outside of London and only obviously on go on a Saturday you have no choice but to pay £80 or not go. And it's a bit galling sitting in the upper circle knowing those in better seats paid the same amount. This show could be the next Play That Goes Wrong - very popular, not overly expensive to stage and potential to run for ages. The cast recording is imminent. Not sure this pricing is the way to go to ensure longevity.

I can understand people who don't live in London and only being able to come and see a show on a Saturday bring annoyed with the all seats £80. I'm lucky in that I live in London and don't like going into town on a Saturday night so I've been able to book a Tuesday for £39.50 which is pretty good value for a west end musical.

I work with a lot of young (30ish) people who are into theatre and they just aren't considering this because of the price. Their standard conversation is 'oh I fancy seeing a show tonight/tomorrow/this week' and someone else responding 'Oh, xx is on Today Tix for £25'. They rarely even think about going to a theatre's own website for tickets, let alone paying £50+ for something new/unknown. They are going to miss out on a huge, young audience that could be vital to its long-term survival (and they are planning to run a lot longer than the advertised 8 weeks, by all accounts).

To be fair, I don't live near London and very rarely come down on a weekend because of inflated hotel, travel, theatre prices. This isn't just an operation mincemeat problem!
Happy the Tuesday matinee is cheaper though, barely any show does a matinee on a Tueaday so to fit as much as possible on a trip it works out perfectly for me.

Happy the Tuesday matinee is cheaper though, barely any show does a matinee on a Tueaday so to fit as much as possible on a trip it works out perfectly for me. I realised the other day that a performance I'm booked for next week is on Tuesday, having thought it was Wednesday, so I looked up Theatremonkey's show schedule page to see what Tuesday matinees were currently running & was pleased to see Operation Mincemeat listed. Except then when I went to look at ticket availability I discovered the Tuesday matinees don't start until May. I know it's usual for shows not to do matinees for the first week or so of previews but not to start doing midweek matinees until a month after the start of a run seems a bit odd. I'm not sure if I'll be seeing it now, as there aren't any other convenient preview dates for me & given how much the prices go up for most performances from the start of May I'm not sure I want to see it enough to pay over £40, let alone £60 or £80.
