“See you on Tuesday..... fingers crossed” seems a tad vague in terms of commitment. If she’s that unwell just reschedule the shows and take time to recover.

Surely if recovery is that uncertain, ploughing on with the tour at this stage will only aggravate things further. Not to mention extremely disrespectful to people who are travelling long distances to see her.

Ill be very surprised if she gets through all the London dates. Its a lot over a short period if she has this injury that keeps flaring up. I go on the 6th Feb I don’t think she will to be honest. Her knee has been bothering her for months now and contrary to another user’s opinion that it’s a cover for weak sales, it really isn’t (there is clearly some other bitterness going on there). I admire her hoping she can do each show, but I’m not a fan of the last minute show cancellations - I believe the latest cancellation was 2 hours before showtime. On the subject of showtimes, apparently the Palladium has a licence that will allow them to remain open until 3am for Madonna shows. Best install an Uber apps folks. She has been going on around 10ish recently, although there was an 11pm start the other day.

With another show cancelled tonight, I feel that London as a whole is looking less and less likely. Some clarity is needed now though, either she is continuing the tour or she isn’t. Obviously I would want her to be match fit to do all dates but this doesn’t look like that’s possible at all right now. The night I am going is after she has a day off which gives me some hope but I don’t think I will really believe it is going to happen until I am in the Palladium and the show starts - which could well be a long wait!

London is about to get very messy. They haven’t contacted anyone who is supposed to be attending the soundcheck (that’s 300 people per show), there’s possible last minute cancellations looming, tickets haven’t been issued, resale has been forbidden, and now I’ve been informed those who bought front row packages have been informed they have been moved as far back as row H, apparently because it offers a better view. Also if you bought the hotel package, check into the hotel on the day of the show and the show is then subsequently cancelled, the hotel part of your package is non-refundable (but if you don’t check in and the show is cancelled then it is refundable). Add all that to the fact that even if she does the show, she might not come on stage until midnight.
On a plus side, tickets seem have sold well - some shows are down to single seats only on ticket master. On the flip side though, if she cancels there’s not many left to buy on another date.

Add all that to the fact that even if she does the show, she might not come on stage until midnight. I've made no secret of the fact on this forum that I am a long term fan, and that I am booked in for this tour. But all the things you have listed here show what an absolute mess this has become. No doubt this was all in the small print when booking (ie possibility of seats being moved and the hotel issue etc) but all this, added to the bad press that has already happened makes this a PR disaster. Her adding instagram posts of doing fun things when shows have been cancelled really feels insensitive to those who are missing out. But the reality is this. It was my choice and mine alone to choose to book, and I did that based on the great time I have had at the majority of her concerts that I have been to. For the weekend I have booked to see Madonna I have also booked to see Hamilton, and will be running the London 10k the day after, so I will be travelling to London anyway. So if the concert is cancelled, for me personally it will be very disappointing but the weekend will not be ruined. But, if the concert goes ahead, I cannot get a refund or afford to write off the money so choosing not to go is not an option. So the choice is to sit there and deliberately not enjoy it because the whole situation has been such a mess, or embrace the moment and enjoy myself - which is exactly what I intend to do. Its not like I'm sitting here now wondering whether or not to book, that deal was done many months ago.

But on the plus side, it's almost sold out, so she's doing it to as many people as she possibly can...toying with them...collecting the interest on their money until the last minute when she finally pulls the rug out from under neath them. But she might decide to show up...if it's worth it for her financially...so hang in there...what an absolute trooper she is. x

But she might decide to show up...if it's worth it for her financially...so hang in there...what an absolute trooper she is. x Did she cancel on you previously or something? The bitterness quite frankly is unreal. Cancelling a show - any show - is never great. I’ve sadly had shows cancelled on me, shows I’ve travelled to and paid additional costs for, and it’s not nice. But the reality is Madonna is injured and if she can do a show she will do it. this isn't some sort of code for bad ticket sales - box office results have started coming in and both her sales and grosses have been incredible for a theatre show. London too is mostly down to ‘low availability’ on Ticketmaster too. Looking at her schedule I actually believe my show will be cancelled. She is struggling to do more than one show in a row at the moment so sadly it is what it is - shows get cancelled when the artist is unable to perform and it’s been that way for decades. Madonna fans have been spoilt actually in that this is her first tour (in almost 40 years) where she has had to cancel shows regularly for illness or injury. Even then, she’s only actually cancelled 9 Madame X shows. The only silver lining of course is that she’s only playing small venues - so the number of people unable to see a show is around 2000 per cancellation, rather than the usual 10,000+ she plays to (50,000+ when she does stadium shows). Doesn’t make it any less disappointing, but any other tour we’d have been talking tens of thousands of fans.

If she doesn’t think she can do it she should cancel the lot...not just play fast and loose with those expecting a night out.

The issue also is the last minute cancellation. If there is genuine medical reasons and I am sure she has the best doctors , they should advise her to cancel or at least cancel in advance if she is unable to do back to back shows. On another matter I just got an e mail from ticketmaster:
Madonna : Madame X Tour - The London Palladium Hi there,
Your tickets still aren't ready yet...
The event organisers are still working with us on a few final details before we can make your tickets available.
We know you’re eager to have them in your hands, so we’re working hard to have this completed as soon as possible – we’ll email you again once they’re ready.
Thanks again for your patience and we hope you enjoy the show!
Well as she is scheduled to do the day before my show on Feb 9th, I don't think it likely I will have a show. Just hope it's before 7.30 pm on the night of the show before I find out so I can make other arrangements!

I just received the same email from ticketmaster. I think my show is the 3rd in a row before she has a day off, so its unlikely mine will go on as planned. I just wish we knew so I could arrange alternative entertainment as I cant cancel my hotel so I'll still be coming to London

I can't imagine cancellations happen lightly. There will be so much pressure to go on.
So sad for those fans who have paid a fortune for non refundable flights/trains/hotels etc for an event which will now not happen.

Still lots and lots of tickets on sale for this.....shame she can’t shift that £500 ticket price and guessing now she is cancelling all the time that they won’t sell. Suppose it’s better playing to empty seats than real fans. Oh well, seen the whole show on YouTube now anyway

Are they offering exchanges to fans with tickets for the cancelled show? Surely it's better to fill up the other nights, even if there is a difference in ticket price. Or are they just giving refunds and telling fans to rebook?

As far as I am aware they are just giving refunds. I guess its logistically much easier to do that and let those who want to rebook to do so given the tight timescale involved.
