Does he mention anything about the closing notices that made it sound like it was coming back for a second run? No… just that the show was due a break in August for (I assume his holiday?) and it seemed the best time to close it. The advance was only £400k and the forecast sales were not good enough to keep it running any longer.

If I understand that badly written linked article correctly, Ball already had six points on his licence, and was done for two further offences of 35mph on a 30mph area within five months. I know that's how the totting-up system works, but seems unduly harsh to me. It's very easy to unintentionally let your speed creep up by 5mph, especially on roads that were designed for and originally had much higher limits. Meanwhile, boy racers, deliberately speeding much more excessively in-between cameras, get off scot-free.

It's really not easy to keep going 5mph over the limit 'accidentally'. Once maybe, but you learn and don't do it again. Roads near me have lowered their limit and you just remember.

I am not a "fan" of Michael Ball. I would have said the same whoever it was. But well done you on being a perfect driver and never making a mistake.

It’s what happens to any driver that is repeatedly caught speeding. Including boy racers.

Oh the sanctimony in this thread is off the scale. Everybody stop and look at virtuous ol’ me. 🤣🤣🤣 Personally I've never had points on my licence, and that's really not that uncommon. But as has been mentioned, this isn't once or twice. He's been caught numerous times. While I wouldn't make a big deal out of it usually, I will challenge anyone who tries to normalise speeding and excuse a repeat offender. He got caught, he got the points. Seems perfectly fair to me, the weirdness is people saying he's been treated unfairly. Its also really not hard to drive in the speed limit🤣 I'm actually shocked people don't care. Hope you or a loved one don't get hit by a car one day.

I’m just not prepared to sit in judgement of someone else and demonstrate moral superiority for something as ‘real life’ as this.
