Just saw a post from Steph on Instagram that she is flying off somewhere so I'm presuming she won't be there on Thursday when I'm seeing the show again. Anyone know what her understudy is like? I haven’t seen Sarah O’Connor play Anna yet but she was incredible as Jenna in Waitress in 2019/20. She has a gorgeous voice.

I've seen Steph twice now and I think she is the best performer in the whole show so I'm a bit disappointed not to see her again but the friends I am taking to see the show have never seen it before so they won't know any difference.

I had both lead understudies and tbh elsa outshone Anna, which I understand isn't the case usually. But yeah if you don't know any different you'll still enjoy the show.

Ahh man, Steph is the beating heart of this show and is just fantastic. I realise its probably been a lot longer journey for her than the amount of time we’ve had to watch her but it seems so unfair that we only get her for a year. I hope it is for something fantastically high profile to make her a star!

I thought it was a bit telling that the second understudy was promoted up to lead

It’s funny because I remember Sarah getting very positive reviews from everyone on here who saw her when she covered Jenna, she was probably my favourite out of the 6 Jennas I’ve seen, neck and neck with Sara Bareilles. Also even back in 2017 everyone was very complimentary of her turn as the mistress in Evita, making an impact in a small role. Maybe this just isn’t the role for her, it’s admittedly very different to Jenna. I did think she’d be more of an Elsa to be honest. I agree it’s interesting that the 2nd cover got promoted over her.

Last night was my third visit to Frozen and I still found it very exciting and spectacular. I took 3 friends who do not speak English so thought this would be ideal for them and it was. They come from an island that does not really have theatres to speak of so you can imagine what they thought of this and the effects, they were blown away. Sarah O'Connor was on as Anna and I thought she was excellent and Jacob Maynard on for Kristoff, again very good indeed. From the stalls where I was sitting it was full and a pretty well behaved audience considering that there were a lot of children there. Only 1 person got up to go to the loo and although lots of rustling of sweet wrappers and paper bags generally pretty good. I did love hearing the kids when something special happened and you could tell how excited they were. Especially at the end of Act 1, i'm sure one or two little ones had almost wet themselves. It was really charming listening to their excitement. I had tried to get the Disney Dayseats when they went on sale on the Monday but no luck. Ended up though with good stalls seats for £69.50 each which I don't think was bad.

Only negative was his reindeer voice wasn't all that different to his speaking voice when we saw it

I am (finally) going to see this on Sunday. Which performance? I’m at the 1pm to see Danielle before I’m off to Wembley for the football!

Just grabbing a McFlurry at Leicester Square then walking down, via the displays in Covent Garden ❄️👸 Edit. I’m in a long sleeve retro England shirt with a London 2012 shoulder bag. If anyone sees me say hi!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Loved it!
Not the best that I've ever seen, but seriously impressive!
In particular I loved the work by the ensemble, the sets and the costumes; the dancing and the way the dresses billowed and of course the thrilling Elsa costume change.
The sets were also serious impressive, as was the crystal palace.
Steph McKeon was sensations- extremely well cast as Anna. We had Danielle Fiamanya on today from Elsa.
For me, the star of the show was Obioma Ugoala as Kristoff. Every time he was on stage his presence grew on me more and more.
(I appreciate it was all clever staging and trickery ) but I was sold. I believed they were in a frozen environment.
Olaf, as in the film, was brilliant.
I noticed they cut the frozen snow monster from the film- wise choice.
Criticisms- minimal. I would have liked to see a slightly larger version of the Lord Weselton character.
(Although I understand her motivation for doing do) but I also found Elsa the weakest of the two sisters.
It was a Sunday matinee so of course there were lots (and I mean lots) of kids- so many dressed as Elsa- but relatively we behaved.
What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and for £25, I ain't complaining.
Right, Mary Poppins, you're next on my list

I'm not sure if anyone here is on the Thursday dating app, but they've got a ticket deal where for £40 you get a seat in the royal circle and a free drink in the theatre bar. I checked and I think the tickets for those seats are normally £79.50. It's for the 29th September evening performance. I've already seen Frozen twice, but I'm quite keen to go and see it again as the new Anna (Emily Lane) will have begun the role by then 😊

Does Samantha Barks do all 8 shows a week (barring Illness) or does she have an alternate who does a show or two? I would just think doing a five show weekend would be very taxing vocally so was curious… I’m going to be singing the show and then deciding what day to book.
