Agree, I've seen it and loved it and luckily have no commute issues! Surely the hiccups will be fixed along the way.

I've been a commuter for a long time (back in Italy where I'm from) so was also emphatizing with those concerned with the timetables. Most likely the longer delays are the exception and will occur less and less often.

I'm hoping to get Rush for this tomorrow before Love Story in the evening 🤞

Managed to get C25 in the Rush for today's matinee, which is the end of the third row. A great seat for the tall as there's nothing behind you so you don't need to slump down, and sitting up also means you can see the stage-floor projections as well.

Quite simply, it's brilliant. So much more than just the film on stage, it's thrilling, poignant, inventive, magical....honestly one of the best
pieces of theatre I've ever seen (and I'm on 700-odd).

The puppetry is stunning, it's beautifully choreographed, and Hiran is just spectacular as Pi. It's an incredibly authentic performance, powerful, at times funny, physically demanding, and he gives his all.

I'm sure the view is fantastic from the circle but equally it felt amazing to be so close to the action, you really feel part of it. The front row ducked a few times as the various animals got a bit playful and fish and turtles swam over their heads. I even had the tiger passing by my shoulder at one point.

No technical hiccups or stops either, the whole thing ran smoothly which is some feat given all of the technical skills on show.

Literally the only weak link is that Mr Okamoto can't act. At all. He's dreadful. But he's one small weak link in an otherwise epic production.

Loved it. Can't stop thinking about it. Amazing.

We were there on the 24th with the long show stop. It stopped with about 40 mins of the show left so we were very close to the end! I was sure it wasn't longer than 25 minutes as we were at the tube station by 10.30. I think everyone who was able to stay was incredibly glad they managed to get it restarted so we could see the end.

As far as we could tell it was an issue with the boat, maybe not coming fully up out of the ground and perhaps the revolve. When the scene started just before the stop the boat was facing front on - when they restarted it after the fix it was side on, so something must have happened for it not to be in the right place. they checked it over a lot during the stop and made sure it was turning properly. The bar re-opening was towards the end of the break - the people sitting next to me decided to go and get drinks but were asked to go back to their seats as they were about to start the show again.

I loved it so much and was so glad we got to see it, our tickets had been rescheduled at least 4 times since I booked them. It's just wonderful.

That's an interesting comparison to War Horse actually. The puppetry in that was mindblowing but otherwise it left me stone cold, whereas I was engrossed in The Life Of Pi from start to finish. I may be slightly biased towards anything with a tiger in it, to be fair 🐯

I think both levels will offer different experiences - the circle will allow you to take it all in and should feel very cinematic (I'd definitely sit there next time to compare), but there was a certain thrill to being so close to the puppetry. The people in the front row near me certainly loved it. I would say the ends of the front row may be better than central, just because of some scenery which may partially obscure the view briefly at times, but it's certainly an enjoyable and immersive way to experience the show 😁

From row D in stalls I could see the floor perfectly well, they did a good job with elevating the auditorium.

I booked a Black Friday deal in December for a rear stalls seat (Far right of Row L) I got it for £50 down from £60 on the DMT site. My friends tried to book today and it seems that dynamic pricing has kicked in and the seat is now £47.50 on DMT! Still, for this show, it seems like fair value to me.

I thought this was great. I loved the book and so I have the classic "it's not as good as..." but regardless I totally recommend.

Saw this last night from the circle. Great seats and a great view. Wyndhams really is one of my favourite West End theatres. Life of Pi is as visually arresting as you would expect. The puppetry is really good but, will anything impress as much as the first time one saw Joey in War Horse? Possibly not. Having said that Richard Parker seemed to become more real as the show went on (and there is a splendidly surreal scene with him that's not in the book or the film as far as I remember). Hiran Abeysekera holds the stage throughout as Pi, doing an admirable job of driving the story on with a great deal of charm. But, the script is a bit anemic once you strip away the design element, and I left without feeling particularly emotionally involved. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would heartily recommend it as a show but it didn't quite blow me away as much as I'd expected after waiting all this time. Four stars.
