Wyndham's is a surprise but I'm sure it'll do well.

This looks stunning from the pictures! Sorry I missed it in Sheffield, so will try and catch it in London.

Just seen Baz say in reply to a question that "stalls will be elevated on a platform so audience can see the brilliant set, lighting etc ". That sounds interesting and allays some of my concerns about the magic being lost behind a pros arch.

Sunday performances! Very different seating plan for the stalls, and looks like they’re now selling the balcony as the “rear grand circle”

Obviously the royal circle is the place to see this from- judging by the ticket prices. Ouch.

I hope they manage to make the stage floor visible to as many as possible. Rather like Curious Incident, you'd lose a dimension otherwise.

Looks like they are trying to merge the balcony and grand circle - says entry to the balcony will be from the grand circle, and a couple of row D grand circle seats are gone to allow for it. Interesting. On pricing, nabbed second row stalls for £25 - 8 of those, 4 either side at all performances. Cheers for the heads up on seats seats. I just assumed that every seat would be priced at 200 odd squid! I do love this board

Welcome, Someone in a tree . I'm taking the chance on missing the floor at that price. Me too, Theatremonkey.
Despite the restrictions on the view those seats may have, I DO appreciate producers who offer something close to a bargain for ADVANCE bookers in the Stalls or Dress.
With the flurry of offers (and TodayTix bargains) that inevitably appear appear LATE in a show's booking for almost every production, booking in advance has become less and less attractive, and that tends to diminish excitement and advance word of mouth for productions, as more and more people just don't bother showing interest in anything until the offers are out. That seems self-defeating to me, to train your audience not to bother to be interested in advance.
So when producers DO include something close to a bargain for advance bookers, I think it shows foresight, and self-servingly, I'm grateful.

Wyndham's is a surprise but I'm sure it'll do well. I should have guessed, as Wyndham's seems to be the go-to venue for Simon Friend, after The Height of the Storm and The Starry Messenger.

Thanks for the heads up. Just nabbed a couple of those £27.50 stalls seats for a Sunday at the beginning of July. It did say on the booking that we may have to look up but if the stalls have been raised then hopefully shouldn't be too bad. Unless the are only raising the centre stalls and those side seats are not. Anyway just have to chance it.

For those that saw it in Sheffield, would you say the Dress Circle is the best place to see this from?

For those that saw it in Sheffield, would you say the Dress Circle is the best place to see this from? Hard to say because I can’t quite imagine what they’re doing at the Wyndham’s from the description given. I looked at the seat map and it doesn’t look hugely different from a traditional layout although they’ve put a centre aisle in. Still nothing like the Crucible though. The bit about stalls seats being raised doesnt make sense to me because those £25 seats on the sides have a warning about looking up to the stage. All I would say is that projections onto the floor and the back of the stage were a huge part of this.

There seems to be 4 or 5 rows removed in the stalls, so maybe they will go in the raising of the seats? It says for the Rows L and M that the view of the top of the stage is cut off and looking at photos that doesn't usually happen until Row Q.

Now the award-winning Life of Pi. Nominated in four categories at last night's UK Theatre Awards...and won all four. (Standing at the Sky's Edge also won, making it five out of five for the world-famous Crucible Theatre.) 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Just got an email from Delfont Mackintosh letting me know the performance I'd booked has been cancelled and to contact them to exchange or refund tickets. We'd booked the first Saturday preview I think, so happy to move to another day if they've got the seats free.

Theatre monkey,
Do we know why Today Tix are trying to pull a fast one with their Theatre Week “sale”?
The “deal” is offering £25 for the “Grand Circle” (so not really a deal), but on closer inspection we noticed the Balcony was missing...
...and it seems the Balcony is very much there but now they’re trying to claim it as being part of the “Grand Circle”.
Is this a rebrand by Cam Mac?
Or are they trying to fool the customers?

nash16, they are indeed knocking two holes in the wall between the Grand Circle and Balcony, one either side of the theatre. In future, audiences will enter at Grand Circle level and walk up and through these holes into what was the Balcony space. The Balcony has indeed been re-lettered to continue on from the Grand Circle. Knew you’d be in the know. Thank you for this.
