I’d like to give this one another go without Miriam, so fingers crossed! I saw it several times with Miriam and with Grace - definitely preferred Grace

Certainly in the first year. I did see Grace abd she fell completely flat by comparison. Zero charisma.

Like you say, thought Grace was lacking in charisma. Thought Roshani Abbey was good though.

Zara Macintosh was the best in my opinion, I think she “got” the character the most, delivered the humour the best, and her voice was the best suited to the pop sound of the score.

Surely nobody ever eclipsed Cassidy? I saw someone at the Shaftesbury who was a very poor imitation.

Miriam got better by the end of the run, but her singing was mediocre. I´m afraid she´ll most likely do the tour, given the producers love her.

The Miriam hate surprises me. I never saw her in & Juliet, but did see her in Hamilton and On The Town and she was brilliant both times, amazing vocals.

Oh she was great, but she just totally wrecked her voice by the end of the run and it just sounded...rough.

Zara… THE perfect Juliet. adored her. Grace was fine, no charisma, quite bland . Roshani was a gorgeous Juliet, bessy was a sweet ball of chaos .
Miriam was… Miriam.
And no, she absolutely didn’t sound good in those last few months but weeks especially and I was there a lot.

I don't think Miriam will do the tour, if that's what they were planning wouldn't they have used her image in the promotion instead of randomly using all the Broadway stuff? And probably announced her as the lead along with the tour announcement itself. Nah i think it will be someone else. Interesting when I went first time I thought she sounded good it was more her acting that I wasn't sure of. Second time her voice sounded much poorer but i liked her portrayal better.
2nd time I had the understudy on for Cassidy and she was good but certainly no match.

I liked Zara when I saw her, less corny.

Or maybe she was just far worse than I remembered at the first performance I saw and went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised!

Oddly, while I wasn’t massively impressed with Miriam’s voice it wasn’t what I didn’t like about her performance. I just found her very unlikeable in the role. I couldn’t root for her, or much care what her ending was. I suspect a lot of it might be Juliet herself which is why I’d like to give it another go, I may be doing Miriam a disservice!

Or maybe she was just far worse than I remembered at the first performance I saw and went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised! As someone who saw her in the role an embarrassing amount of times (I just love the show) she absolutely was not just ill. There were many many shows where she should have not be on for and should have called out, which were frankly painful to listen to, but she didn’t seem to enjoy sharing the role or praising anyone else in it so…

Tour went on ATG priority sale for a whole two hours this morning. Booked for the opening night at the Opera House. Some early bird offers but no more than a tenner off.

Yeah the 241 opening ticket offers with ATG hardly ever happen now. And the £60 seats (ie the best ones) weren’t even eligible for the £10 off!

The producers aren’t responsible for ATG+ though, the offers on that are entirely down to ATG.
Two hours for the presale? Seriously. They really are rip off merchants.
