On on the question of Marius ... Do we think there might be another TV search? (Only slightly joking). I actually think that all the cast might actually be returners from the show. Not just the big stars. Or the other thing I remember when I posted that rumour that was around that Conor Maynard was gonna be Marius last year. Then he went to Broadway to be Charlie in Kinky Boots. Maybe not Marius I wonder maybe Enjolras...

Perhaps there should be an entirely new section devoted to Les Miserables, alongside Musicals and Plays!
Old London production. New London production. London concert. Touring production. A N Others.

I was going to book for this, but after seeing the prices I am not bothering. I have seen LES MIS numerous times over the years, and have seen it both with John Owen-Jones and Alfie Boe. I would have liked to have seen Michael Ball as Javert, as a big fan of his, but I cannot justify the prices just for him.
I may wait for the remount of LES MIS back at the Queen’s as I have never seen the touring production.

That would make more sense... Feel like I read somewhere this morning that said separately said orchestra of 65, but can't remember where. Yes i read that too just now but I can't find the website now Reading the press statement on the CamMac website, I now realise where I got confused... "...will lead a large cast and orchestra of over sixty-five in the concert version... This spectacular staging of the legendary concert, previously seen in London at the Royal Albert Hall and the O2 Arena..."As the orchestra was around 60 piece for the previous concert versions, it implies this new concert would be as per the previous, thus leading me to assume it'd be an orchestra of "over 65". I think the use of the word combined wouldn't have gone amiss.

He might tell you his thinking behind it.

I am hugely surprised that there are still seats left for the final performance of the original production at the Queen's left!

It seems like all (or most) of Alfies dates are sold out.
I wonder if they’re holding seats and more will go on sale closer to?

At a quick glance, these amount of shows currently still showing availablity are:
August (8 Performances) September (20 Performances) October (17 Performances) November (17 Performances)
When the little darlings go back to school, there is more availability. 😂

These sales do illustrate quite nicely how as an MT fan what you are desperate to go to can be completely at odds with what Joe Public wants. And indeed what a little bubble this community is.
Last night at Queen's - to me a historic end of an era occasion - plenty of tickets available. But a concert with probably minimal (if any) set and staging but Alfie Boe's name attached - multiple sold out performances less than a week on sale.

Unless you are on a board like this would you really know when the "last" performance is?
Whereas if you are a fan of Ball, Boe or CHF you can't help but be inundated by Facebook and Twitter that the concerts are happening.
Also, I think most fans won't see the significance of the close and will see it as the show continuing. If it was the last ever show it would have sold out in a flash.

I quite agree that the current Queen’s run ending isn’t a big deal imo. Not making me jump to buy a ticket. Whereas if it was the official closing of the show I’d jump to get a ticket. And I expect that’s why so many tickets are still available ....

I went to Chess stage door once before the show (yes I know, but couldn't go afterwards) and around thirty of the Michael Ball online fanclub arrived, some wearing tshirts of his. I ended up having a lovely chat with one of them who was one of the moderators and she was telling how busy she was kept with it frequently kicking off between Boe and Ball fans and how some of the members just went so ott following him around. It was fascinating.
No matter what the age of the fan base it seems the issues are still the same!

With MB and AB playing (and filling) arenas, I bet Cam Mack is kicking himself he did not charge more for the tickets!!! I wonder if some have been withheld for later release at extortionate prices?

Was just going to say it looks like all Boe shows are sold out. I'd rather see John Owen Jones but can only justify it at all as a second show when I'm up anyway for Mary Poppins. Oh well, wonder if it will extend?

Miss Ball looks like she's just seen someone place a cake on the buffet table and is working out how to get there before anyone else does.

I'm going to see John Owen Jones 😍 I must admit, I didn't know Alfie Boe was so popular, I wouldn't know him if I fell over him 😂Also want to see CHF of course, and I do like Michael Ball (never seen him in the theatre, though I do remember watching him rehearsing a song at my dance studio when I was about 12!)

Maybe they're trying to push sales towards the JOJ shows for a while? Or Alfie has pulled out already, so they've taken his shows off sale while they do some crisis management. 😉

I know they can't guarantee any actor's appearance, but this would not be a case of illness; this would be a very important cast alteration in an (as advertised) All-Star concert. Do you think they would offer full refund?
