Charles Lawson (Jim McDonald in Coronation Street) gave a very detailed and interesting interview to Stephen Nolan on BBC Radio Ulster at 9.05 this morning about the circumstances which led to his ill health and temporary withdrawal from the Rebus touring stage production with John Stahl and Cathy Tyson which originated at Birmingham Rep. When Roxana Silbert left the production due to bereavement, the next director (whom he doesn't name, but it's Robin Lefevre) lost confidence in him and phoned his agent which led to crippling issues of self doubt just before the opening.
He completed the first leg of the tour but Ron Donachie has taken over for the 2019 leg.
You can access it on the Sounds app, I'm sure.

Id rather they sorted out the awful script instead of the leading man.
