I think in ye olden days, the Donmar was used to ripen bananas, so if there is to be a change of name, there is surely only one possible candidate, eh @theatremonkey?

Right, I've thought long and hard about this one. I'd open the season with a revival of a classic, something safe but perhaps a challenge. I'm leaning towards a Coward, perhaps Blithe Spirit, ideally getting the season off to a fun start, plus I feel like there's a lot that could be done in that space with the play. For the musical, well, I think the consensus is pretty clear. Next to Normal, but I have to say, I think instead of Jenna Russell, I'd have to go for Linzi Hately as Diana, with Cameron Blakely as Dan. I'm leaning towards Luke Bayer as Gabe, with either Olivia Moore or Charlotte Wakefield as Natalie. For the new writing, I'd love to stage a new piece by someone like James Graham, something about privacy in the media, or the lack of it. And for the sheer hell of it, I'd be pretty determined to stage a revival of A Raisin in the Sun, and I echo the previous comments, get me Ms. Dumezweni and I can die a very happy man.

Fond memories of Birdy at the then, Comedy Theatre. Perhaps due for a revival?
Next to Normal - up there with my favourites.
13 years since 'Bent' has been in London?
Gosh - so many when you start looking back over the years spent sat in flip up seats!

Any idea when Longhurst's first season is going to be announced? Sweet Charity ends on June 8th and I assume he'll want to be putting something on that starts by the end of that month? Which presumably means rehearsals beginning in a month or so...

Was thinking the same. SC is the only thing on the roster as if now. Must be imminent.

Heh, this is a good thread.
New play - I'd get Sarah Ruhl to write something, in her usual vein of dramedy. Modern classic - *slams hand down on table* LOBBY HERO Major classic - Antigone, and I want Patsy Ferran as Antigone, Jessie Buckley as Ismene, Roger Allam as Creon, Adjoa Andoh as Teiresias, Daniel Mays as the Guard and Tom Rhys Harries as Hymon. Major rediscovery - Having a Ball by Alan Bleasdale
