I ‘may’ pop to Sainsburys for a Halloumi breakfast in the morning, but neither Nicole nor Ewan will be there to drippily whisper/belt their throat out to ‘Come What May’. I shall need signed documents from Baz himself before the required bit of rude wee leaks out at this frankly marvellous news. Please let it be so!!!

I don't take any rumours like this serious unless I see it tweeted by Baz or one of the few trustworthy sites.

He doesn't often tweet nonsense about specific shows ...

Wait a month or two longer and they could have the Adelphi.

West End Producer has just tweeted that Moulin Rouge is due to go into the Piccadilly Theatre at the end of the year! "may be going" Thanks for clearing that up. I did put a question mark in the title of the thread. I'm afraid I'm not clever enough to copy and paste the original twitter tweet. WEP is usually pretty well informed in the past I have found however. Hopefully true so very excited. Much better than Strictly Ballroom at the same theatre.

WEP is usually pretty well informed in the past I have found however. It's not a matter of being clever! Just copy the URL of the specific tweet and paste it in. The board software automatically renders the tweet so we can all see it.

That's very quick. Doesn't the show start previews in June and then officially open in July? I don't see how and why it would get fast tracked to London when they absolutely have no idea how Broadway will go.

If it does indeed happen, it must be one of the fastest turnarounds for a musical in recent memory for a transfer?

If it does indeed happen, it must be one of the fastest turnarounds for a musical in recent memory for a transfer? Absolutely! In fact probably the quickest ever. In recent years the fastest turnarounds have been School of Rock (11 months) and Beautiful (1 yr 2 months).

Gossip I overheard on train is that this is delayed “12 months”.

I heard this rumour a while ago. It was supposed to go straight in after Strictly Ballroom but got delayed and so they have been using filler shows to keep the theatre going until it was ready so sounds plausible

Same people. Sat next to me and had a right old chin wag. Obviously involved on the production side but mostly chatting about other people. Most of what I heard made no sense to me eg somebody being offered both moulin and another big show and pondering whether that person could do both because of the delay to Moulin.
The moral is not to plug headphones in while travelling on public transport.

I want it to be so, but let's be honest, we've been burned before. I remember around the end of last year when there was an absolutely positive thread with news of Hello Dolly coming here this summer was a guarantee. Well, I can't see it in the West End.

If it is to be the rumoured Piccadilly, I would have thought this theatre would be too narrow for the production, where are you going to put the windmill and elephant.
But saying that great news it intends to go over, would be better news if Michael Xavier was involved.

I’d say it could look pretty fabulous in there actually, and will be a very hot ticket with less seats than the more obvious Drury Lane/Prince Edward theatres.
