It would be good to have a proper production once again. Too many people have only had access to the dreadful cardboard BK version for too long.

I mean, god no. But, can I have a bash at the narrator?

It's just a crap show. It seems such a shame, as it's such a great theatre and having the right thing in there makes it a magical theatre experience. Oh god, and you can't even escape the children because parents will take them and everything. Oh god, I can't even.

Also, can someone dreamcast Cynthia Erivo as third sheep from the left? I need that entertainment in my life right now...

The Palladium will be rubbing their hands together on this one. Expect themed cocktails and sippy cups galore!
And just wait for them to announce Charlie Stemp as Jo!

Stemp in a loin cloth will get many on here very hot under the collar... (and elsewhere)

They will get a pop star - Zayn or Shawn Mendes?

Joseph at the Palladium? I’ll dig out my Jason Joseph June shirt that must be hanging around somewhere...

Seeing as it's a 50th birthday production maybe they will get previous Joseph's back for a turn? Can you imagine...

It wouldn't surprise me if we got a new song or two added.

Actually, if they do rush tickets like they did for the King And I, I will happily take Young and Littlest to this, and tell them the tale of how my love of musical theatre began with this musical at this theatre back in 1991. I’m really pleased as I do love this show.
Jason Donovan as Jacob? Maybe not as mad as it sounds. My credit card however would weep for a long time to come.
It’s really going to be the year of Lloyd Webber shows again next year, isn’t it?

I’m relatively new to the musical scene & don’t know anything really about Joseph- what is it that everyone on here seems to hate so much about this show?

The Palladium production brings back so many great memories for me, seeing it many times, just buzzing with joy after every visit, even if the mega mix does go on for too long...
You thought the stage door was bad at Wicked? The Jason Donovan days were madness.....
And the AMAZING Linzi, belting her head off every night, in that beaded bolero jacket, with that fabulous short hair crop....
Good Times!

YES. We deserve so much better than the BK production, which does nothing to showcase the quality of this musical. Now we just have to avoid stunt casting (let’s face it, Joseph doesn’t need it to sell) and everything is golden!

I’m eternally frustrated that I’m just too young to have caught that production - the cast album was my first musical theatre obsession and hearing Linzi’s voice on it still thrills me!

Jason Donovan to play Jacob? Haha.
I would like to see a proper version after the cheap version I saw on tour a year or two ago - Joe McElderry sang it brilliantly though.

Let's hope they don't have Joseph in Uggs this time...

I've seen it, I get it's significance to theatre. I just think its a crap score and show.

I do think it's entertainment for the masses but I do enjoy that sometimes. I like a cheesy musical score as much as I do Berlioz. But not with the Kenwright tour staging and orchestra setup. I imagine that with a new set, full orchestra and great cast it could be an exciting family treat. It would also be a good opportunity for some re-orchestrations. The classy kind though not 'Joseph Rocks!'

The 1991 Palladium production and the 2007 Adelphi production show how good Joseph is when produced well. I hope it's a new production rather than the 1991 production brought out of storage.
I imagine they'll cast a name for Joseph, Jacob should be either Jason Donovan or Phillip Schofield although I suspect the latter won't do it as he's usually on his holidays from This Morning.

So next year sees Joseph at the Palladium, Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican, and Evita at Regents Park. 2019: the year of ALW and TR!
