Just got back from a private screening of Nativity Rocks.
Well that's only partly true. I was actually the only person in the cinema so with a bit of artistic licence it was private.
Its as cheesy as hell and doesn't require much thinking but it was great fun.
Simon Lipkin was on top form as Mr Poppy and very funny indeed, he really is so good at comedy and he even had a puppet!!! Daniel Boys, so sweet, was excellent as well. There was even a joke about him loosing his hair.
Craig Revel Horwood, was dreadful, but that was the part he was playing.
Several other musical theatre people in it including Gabriel Vick, Ramin Karimloo, Jon Robyns and Alison Jiear.

I went to see this today, my first trip to the new local cinema that opened a month ago! Whilst I had quite liked the first Nativity film I'd found that they had got worse by each film despite having fantastic casts, however I would say Nativity Rocks is easily the best of the 4! Absolutely loved Simon Lipkin in it (he was always a favourite of mine in Rock Of Ages) I had forgotten just how funny he is even with more child friendly material than he had in ROA! Thought Helen George was great and there was an adorable child with a bowl cut so what more do you need!

I've just seen it for the second time today, I love it. I haven't seen any of the other Nativity films, but saw the musical last year and thought it was fab, and was drawn to this film by the cast. It was fun spotting actors I knew in it, and found it even more moving the second time round. And a great sing-a-long (silently to myself of course, I don't want to end up in the badly behaved audiences thread!) soundtrack.

All the kids joined in singing at the end when I went to see it, it was nice rather than annoying. There were only about 4 families in watching.
I thought it was a good laugh and a nice change from all the superhero films that dominate these days.
