Not sure what the etiquette is for things like this* but I was wondering, as it’s the season of goodwill and daytime drinking, if we might try and have a Christmas drink? I’m in London so I’d be happy to co-ordinate something, if people were up for it? I was thinking something early doors because I imagine 87% of us will have a show to go to after :-)
*I moderated a restaurant forum about 300 years ago and it basically fell apart when we were no longer allowed to organise meet-ups.

Same here.
My recommendation is to set a date that works with the venue and stick with it.
Board members will not be able to make it for a plethora of reasons (one of which will be the date) but just lock in a date and stick to it.
Thank you in advance for suggesting this.

Great idea! I’m in if the dates don’t clash with anything that my partner and I have booked in.

Nice idea - says she who didn't make it to the last meet-up - & as I'm currently on sick leave & not even allowed to walk round the house, let alone set foot outside, I'd love something to look forward to.

If you try to accommodate everyone it will never happen. And yes youre very much allowed to organise meet ups. We’ll do our best to support by helping to publicise the event on the forum.

I'd love to meet some of you in person if the dates work. Re-reading this it sounds like "there are some of you I wouldn't love to meet".. that's not what I meant! Oops...

I'm game too. I'd aim for a weekend so that as many people as possible can make it and do a two show day if they want too.

I’ll do one of those doodle things and everyone can put the dates they can do on it, and then I’ll take organisers privilege and pick one of the ones I can do.
Just in way home so either later tonight or first thing tomorrow.
Am excited. Hoping I am on of the ones David would like to meet. Lol.

This sounds like a great idea and I'd love to meet some of you wonderful people.
Let us know the suggested dates to vote on.
I am slightly worried we won't have anything in common though...

@happysooz how does the doodle thing work? Good of you to ask! Let’s try this doodle.com/poll/fe6huzqiyp59xpw9I am hoping I have set it so that you tick which ones you can do and I can build up a picture of when’s most popular. Feel free to tell me if I have made a complete bollocks of this. We’ll cross venue once we have a date.

Voted. The only date I 100% can't do is the 15th, but I can work around other dates so voted on preference.

Someone here up for post-Christmas meet ups? I’m in town Dec 29 to Jan 6.
In Russia we are more New Year than Christmas oriented. So our week of holidays falls on the first week of January

Thank you, @happysooz. I had never even heard of Doodle, let alone used it, but it looks much easier than trying to do an Excel spreadsheet, which is the only method I could think of. I wish staff where I volunteer would switch to Doodle, as I struggle to schedule meetings using Outlook, but as I'd also have to book a meeting room at the same time, I don't think it'd be an option, alas.
Btw, I've only ticked one date - though so far it seems the most popular - but please feel free to discount me as I'm currently signed off until 16 December, so don't yet know if I'll actually be fit again afterwards.

Without wanting to hijak an ace thread, some may find it difficult making it down to London pre-Christmas. Would there be any interest in an additional Theatre Board North drinks in that limbo period between Christmas and New Year? Manchester or Liverpool?

It’s really good, right? I’m using the free version which works really well. There’s a paid version where you can see who has replied (and chase up the ones who haven’t.

I’d be able to either Manc or Liverpool.

Would there be any interest in an additional Theatre Board North drinks in that limbo period between Christmas and New Year? Manchester or Liverpool? Maybe we could get a moderator to change the title of the original thread to “Christmas drinks - London edition” and we do a new thread for the north? ETA - because I think it’s a great idea to have northern drinks, not because I think you are highjacking a thread.

Well apparently we’re Saturday night people.
8th, 15th and 22nd are the frontrunners. I do love how quickly we’re getting to a consensus on this.
Wondering - shall I do another doodle and we vote again on those three dates? This is why I am not a data scientist - I don’t have a sense of if they are highest voted because the majority of people can do all of them, or if we have different groups for each.
Hit like if you’re happy to go to a second vote. Comment if you’d like to make a passionate plea for a specific date.
