I can see no reason as to why I won't or can't be there so am looking forward to meeting some new faces.

I was working at pace earlier and in addition to totally bolloxing up the actual name of the venue, I also did not give credit where credit is due...thank you to Stephen for the venue inspiration. Is it too Blue Peter of me to bring name stickers so we can write our user names and real world names? (Also, can a mod fix the venue name in the title?)

I can't believe I might meet theatremonkey.com Sadly, no, I won't be there. According to BurlyBeaR , I shouldn't have clicked "like" apparently. But I click that so often, I can't remember. Sometimes, the bear is brighter than we think. And I can't believe I just typed that. Bears is bright 💡💡👍😘

Will Jane McDonald be stopping by? It’s a long way from Wakefield.

The idea of name tags is actually a thought that crossed my mind today.

I'm really looking forward to it. Do let me know what people may be seeing in the evening as I may book something. Or i'll stay out all night drinking. One of the two...

I've booked a matinee (fairly sure this particular theatre will allow a refund or exchange if necessary) nearby so am hoping that by then I'll be fit to attend. Nearer the time I will also book something for the evening but that should still allow me to drop in for 90 mins or so.

I'm seeing "Fiddler on the Roof" in the afternoon so my attendance will depend on how long-winded it is by mid-December! Hopefully will make it though.

Name sticker question, please: if we had these, wouldn't we first have to identify ourselves anyway in order to receive our own? Or would they be left for people to claim (raising the diverting possibility of jokers trying to pass themselves off as another)? Or would it be up to us to make our own?

Im not sure I like the idea of people saying they are looking forward to meeting certain people. Sounds a bit like that dreadful school experience of not being picked for teams and left standing at the end because no one wants you. Im looking forward to meeting everyone Yes to name badges too, I presume it will be our forum name rather than real name? Could also wear our Theatre Forum badges for those who have them.

Likely to attend, will be good to meet the person behind the Avatar.
Assume theatremonkey. is not attending as he may not actually be a monkey in real life, and what if BurlyBeaR is not a bear.

I have met BurleyBear on several occasions. He is a very friendly and lovely man.
A bear, but a sensitive one at that.

Re name tags, showgirl and alece10 I was thinking I’d just bring stickers and Sharpies and people can write their own. Some people may prefer to maintain anonymity and be called by their forum name, and they can write that, others might want to put both. The lovelything about events like this is a chance to put a face to a name, so connecting the human with the user name is the key. I’d struggle to remember to introduce myself as Happysooz so my tag will have both :-)

Beginning to wish that my username here wasn't my actual name! Feeling a lack of creativity on my part.

The lovelything about events like this is a chance to put a face to a name, so connecting the human with the user name is the key. I’d struggle to remember to introduce myself as Happysooz so my tag will have both :-) Provided there's room, I'm happy to put both my board name and real one (plus my "old board" name, which I only changed when this one started in the vain hope of avoiding the unwelcome attentions of someone who is no longer here) - but as even I struggle to read my handwriting, goodness knows how anyone else will fare. So that could prove interesting... at least I am (I hope!) clearly female, which alas means I have no hope of pretending to be another, as though @parsley would evidently have some takers, who wouldn't crave a few hours' experiencing @ryan's insouciance and flair? As recovering, @happysooz - thank you for the kind thought - I'm getting there. Had my post-up check-up yesterday and was looking forward to seeing my "new" foot (and escaping from the mega-bandage), so I now have some more manageable strapping and a different orthopaedic sandal which is slightly less awkward to hobble around in than the first one. Plus I'm officially allowed to walk a short distance, but I can see from the amount of swelling that I'll have to carry on with the RICE regime for now.

Will I need to wear my badge or will there be a bloody big sign by the table?

Aha. I'm the ripe old age of 22 so this might be a bit before my time. Certainly glad to be one of the members on here representing the Scottish contingent

Hello everyone. I'm announcing this here as I thought it would be the best place. Not that anybody will care BUT I realised I don't finish work until 6pm that evening so will be over for around 6.30. If anyone fancies staying later then I certainly will!
