She was sensational tonight. Forget what I said about This Is Me, she could sing the menu from Pizza Hut and I would want to hear it. Hopefully she will do another musical in London before too long - just cast her in anything!!!
Setlist the same as previously posted, along with Burn and “in a very unusual way” from Nine I believe. Plus she finished the show with Greatest Love Of All. Very receptive crowd plus a lovely duet with Mark from the audience on A Whole New World.
Great to meet tysilio2 as well!

^Agree with all the above. A superb night of effortless singing and entertainment. Was lovely to meet my first board member in person, ptwest.

Lea Salonga is one of the artists appearing at the Lytham Festival Hollywood Proms tonight, along with Michael Ball, Sheridan Smith, Collabro and others. I am currently listening to the live broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire and she is amazing!

Hi!
Just wondering from those who have seen Lea recently, I received these timings for her concerts this weekend at the London Palladium:
Matinee Performance Doors and bars open – 1pm Act One – 2pm Interval – 3:30pm Act Two – 4pm Show ends – 5pm
Evening Performance Doors and bars open – 6.30pm Act One – 7.30pm Interval – 8.25pm Act Two – 8.55pm Show ends – 9.50pm
I'm thinking they can't be right, that the matinee runs longer than the evening? How have the timings been at the other venues so far? Thanks x

It was more like an hour roughly for the first half in Cardiff, with the second perhaps being slightly longer because of the chat with Simon Bowman, and the encore. But the times for the evening performance seems right, not sure why the afternoon would have a longer show.

Manchester ran a very similar timescale to the evening performance you quote.

Many thanks for both your replies, I know seems a little odd that the matinee is running longer. Unless she has an additional guest! Will report back! Thanks again x

The Palladium just emailed across with amended times to their previous message! New timings for the matinee on Sunday are:
Doors and bars open – 1pm Act One – 2pm Interval – 2:55pm Act Two – 3:25pm Show ends – 4:20pm
Makes a lot more sense ;-)

^Wow...a 30 minute interval? All of her concerts have had 30 minute intervals, I think. It was certainly 30 mins in Birmingham.

30 minutes for an interval is completely unnecessary! I'd accept it for a complicated set change to open Act 2 of a musical but no way is it necessary for a concert. For people on their own that's a long time to kill. Plus I could get an earlier train home if the interval was just the standard 20 minutes!

Given how slow the Palladium was at getting everyone in they probably need half an hour to get them back in from the bar!
10 minutes late starting but the interval at the advertised time - I wonder if she cut a song or two?
She is very good but that was a short half and the really badly behaved audience are ruining it a bit for me.

She's fabulous but we've only had 45-50 minutes, and 5 of that was the musical medley overture. And everyone on their phones around me the whole time is pushing me closer and closer to thoughts of cartoon violence...

I've just complained to one of the management and they said they are trying to enforce it. I pointed out that the usher in my section had done precisely nothing to stop anyone using their phone. I decided not to go as far as pointing out that he was also on his phone the whole time...

Also agree with everything said - terrible queue for the Upper Circle, never seen it like that at the Palladium before. Lea certainly isn’t disappointing with the vocals but I have to say she’s not the most engaging when she’s chatting between songs. In my half of the Upper Circle, the usher attempted to enforce no phones for about 20 mins and then seemed to give up - it seems like every other person is filming! I think perhaps much of the audience is seeing this as a gig-style concert instead of a theatre-style concert.

They're either filming/taking photos or they're bored and checking Facebook and WhatsApping, but it's constant. Haven't seen anyone even try to stop anyone on their phone, the ushers are just walking past. I sincerely home everyone's phone dies 5 minutes into Act 2.

I'm on the other side of the circle and no-one has tried! Some people will not shut up as well, and others are constantly on Instagram... I agree Lea isn't the most engaging between songs but the Miss Saigon story was sweet. She seems a bit nervous to me.

I thought she'd be a bit more dynamic as well. Weird if she is nervous, she's been doing this for 30 years! She might be tired from doing the earlier show which won't be helping.

Also I always forget that there are extended versions of all those Disney songs and so got a little surprised when she started singing lyrics I’ve never heard before!
