After eight years, Robert Hastie has announced the 24/25 season will be his last as Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres. I'm going to miss seeing him in the home baking aisle of Marks & Spencer. Recruitment for one of the most coveted roles in theatre will begin later this month. M&S have a home baking aisle ? Really ? Which branch is that ?

The branch closest to the world-famous Crucible Theatre, obvs. 🙂

Could Hastie be headed to the Young Vic? Does he suit the venue?

With the timing of this (sad) news it feels pretty clear that all roads seem to be pointing towards Hastie becoming the Deputy Artistic Director of the NT?
