Use code “sliceofpie” for £30 best available seats (besides premium) for any night in Wimbledon.
Any board members at opening night tonight?

I'm glad to see Nathaneal Landskroner cast in this, I know him from a lot of Curve Leicester shows. Though have to say he seems way too young for Dr P and Earl, i'm pretty sure he's only early twenties and looks that age too. That will be interesting to see if it reads that way on stage if/when he goes on.

Ahh apologies! I only came across the offer by chance when I saw an Instagram post by the theatre of them giving out free pies outside the Wimbledon shopping centre, and each pie had a little note in the packaging basically hidden from view with the offer code so it’s not being publicised very well!

Aah not to worry! Just a shame it's not valid Monday because there are so many tickets available still. Don't mind paying £30 for a decent seat but £50 is pushing it when you can get most West End shows for £25 through rush nowadays.

Obviously Covid hasn’t helped but I’m still a little surprised the Waitress tour seems to be selling so poorly. I thought this woulda been a really popular tour. I moved back up to the north west recently so was looking at buying tickets for the November leg of the tour at the Manchester Opera House, and it seems like barely any tickets have been sold so far - hope things pick up a bit

Nice to see you back Sparky, felt like I was the only Waitress fanatic on the board for a bit! The tour’s not selling great in Wimbledon either to be honest, it is worrying, I hope things pick up!

The atmosphere was electric tonight and the show was in really good shape. Lucie's Jenna has improved a lot. Looked like a full house with mask wearing being very poor unfortunately, and Covid vaccine/test proof was never checked on the entrance.

Haha thaks! Kinda taken a bit of a break from all things theatre during this crappy last 18 months, because ngl, I’ve just found some of the theatre community and especially theatre social media to be so toxic, judgemental and unforgiving recently that it’s kinda put me off the joy of theatre itself, which I know probably sounds stupid … Yeah I really hope things improve a bit with ticket sales, not least because it must be crappy to perform to half empty theatres. I wonder if a bigger name than Lucie could have sold more tickets? Not that I want a celeb who can’t really sing to play Jenna!

Would love to see this on tour as my London ticket was cancelled but the prices are shocking: West End level even for a weekday matinee in a provincial theatre, so unless I pay to travel further, not sure I'll be able to catch it after all.

There are still £13 ATG price promise tix left for most of the remaining Wimbledon dates for anyone after a bargain. I suspect starting the tour in London maybe wasn’t the best way to make it look busy!

A very good production and cast (several of whom are on the same tube as me, presumably wanting to be recognised as they’re not wearing masks).
A few changes from the West End (simplified I think, but I’ll let people who know the show better go through the details). We had a dropped pie and some fumbles, but also two standing ovations.
The fan girls were there in force, but very well behaved during the show (and super loud in the interval). I was sat near lots of interesting people, including a critic. Great view from the front row.
There are still people who can’t tell when the comedy ends and the drama begins.
What else to say? Lucie Jones has a beautiful voice and I could easily have had a crush on her. I’m old enough to own Busted CDs and I’m sure I had a crush on all of them at one point. Matt Willis was much better than I expected (but I must have missed him getting older). And George Crawford could well be the cutest Ogie of all time. Nothing bad to say about the cast.
The theatre does need to sort the entrance. There were no real queues, just a gathering, but I still had my Covid pass checked three times. Also not too sure what to make of the loud Asian American guy who queued up behind me and followed me into the urinals. He was also cute though.
As I say, an interesting crowd! I’ll hold back on saying more about them. May well see this again.

Was there tonight also and really enjoyed the show. Was a bit further back than you Dr Tom so didn't notice the crazies you mention! Seventh time in total and Lucie Jones really was a really great Jenna (she was out when I tried to catch her in town), especially her She Used to be Mine which rightly got a standing ovation - you could hear a pin drop during that number. Also agree with you on George Crawford - he was very good. A slightly simpler set than in town but no major changes that I noticed. A couple of sound issues but otherwise great for what is only their second preview.

Okay....So not trying to be biased as I work on this production but seeing it a few times in the West End (when I didn't work on it!) and seeing the final Dress on Saturday, Opening Night and Press Night last night I feel like I have a good view on it!
This production is brilliant. The cast are absolutely amazing and it's nice to see that it hasn't been scaled down too much for the tour.
Lucie Jones is incredible as Jenna - this is the first I'd seen her as Id seen KM, SB and DO in Town. She's just the perfect Jenna. I can't get over it. Her accent is natural, her presence is amazing and her voice is just beautiful. Like a couple of other people mentioned, she got a standing ovation after SUTBM on Saturday evening and the same happened last night. It would be interesting to see if that happens a lot going forward or it's the Waitress Superfans jumping to their feet and the rest of the audience following suit.
Matt Willis is also great as Doctor P - His goofy facial expressions were really enjoyable and you can really tell he's enjoying himself.
Evie is outstanding. She is just hilarious and her coming timing is second to none. She's the best Dawn I've seen hands down.
Sandra is also incredible. Her voice just fills the theatre.
George as Ogie is just a joy to watch. Having always seeing a "name" in this role it was really refreshing to see a theatre pro doing his thing. He is sooo funny and his scenes with Evie are brilliant.
If you enjoyed the show in town then you'll enjoy the tour - even more so I'd say as the regional audience are lapping it up so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it's received further away from London!

Really excited to be back at the diner tomorrow afternoon but I can’t quite believe how poorly it’s sold, they can’t have sold more than 200 seats. I know the midweek matinee is always going to be the least sold performance but I don’t think I’ve ever been to a show quite as empty as this before. I’m thinking they’ll probably close both circles and move everyone into the stalls unless a huge amount of tickets suddenly get shifted but still it’s going to be a strange atmosphere, I feel so bad for the cast. www.atgtickets.com/shows/waitress/new-wimbledon-theatre/seats/C25514B5-FE7D-4751-A0A6-773DC15917C9

So was there this afternoon.
Just as good as the version that I saw in the West End version and, in some places, even better. A bit more intimate.
One or two bits had I had forgotten.
The moments between Lucie Jones as Jenna and Micheal Starke and Old Joe are quite touching.
Lucie Jones is just great. She brings Jenna to live, showing vulnerability, joy, happiness and pathos to this complex character.
Matt Wills was also, very, very good as Dr. Pomatter and you truly believe the relationship between the two leads.
Evelyn Hoskins is (simply) perfect as Dawn and George Crawford as Ogie just bounds arounds that stage in an almost balletic frenzy, stealing every scene he's in.
And that ensemble working their ass off!
In a blink and miss it screen all mid-way through act two, they're all partnered off and kiss- two are guys, and the background lighting changes in the pride colours.
(If you can) I would STRONGLY recommend seeing this- even if like me, you've seen it before.
A final thing, ATG Tickets sent both an email and a text advised you must evidence that you have has a recent lateral flow test or both jabs. If you don't, even if you've paid full price for you're ticket, they won't let you in.
I evidenced both jabs with my NHS app.
Good to fellow board member Cub Pop with his partner and his mother.

Caught this unexpectedly in Milton Keynes this evening and, have to agree, it's in very good shape indeed. It's a smaller production that London, but not noticeably so, and I thought the cast were actually better in most instances.
Lucie is as wonderful a Jenna as I had hoped and She Used To Be Mine was just perfect. Wonderful, magical stuff. Matt Willis was a pleasant surprise, if no David Hunter, but he really was very good in the role. Evelyn Hoskins and George Crawford made a fabulous Dawn and Ogie. It was a nice change to see a genuine musical theatre actor as Ogie. A different take on it, and just as funny.
Would highly recommend catching this on tour if you can.
The sound mixing was terrible at the beginning of the night but it did quickly improve. Thankfully, there's not too much exposition at the start but you literally couldn't hear a word anyone was singing for the first few minutes. The lighting was a bit off too - spotlights not hitting right and a few faces left in the dark at times, but it was opening night in this theatre. The stalls looked busy but the middle section of the circle was pretty empty. Hopefully it's busier as the week goes on.

Disappointing as I booked to see Lucie... what's behind this I wonder? The show's website has stated that casting from 8th February 2022 onwards is TBC from the time the tour started I believe
