I would have gone back if it was Jeremy Jordan rather than Gavin Creel. I'm not a big enough fan of Sara for her name alone to draw me back to it for a 3td time. I might do but I doubt it.

Sara's version of SUTBM is one of my least favourites of all Jennas, but it's always interesting to hear a writer's interpretation of their own song. Gavin was fantastic when I saw him in Book Of Mormon and Hello, Dolly! I've still not got round to seeing Lucie in the role though, and that is a bigger priority than seeing Sara or Gavin.

It's an exciting casting for me and it's enough to make me go back for a second viewing, which I wasn't previously planning. I don't think it will set the Box Office ablaze though, the diehard fans will be pleased but it doesn't have much reach beyond that. The reaction in my office was very much 'Who?' and 'What's Waitress?'. Time will tell if it's enough to sell 72,000 seats across those 6 weeks... Good point - getting the composer in and Gavin who is a proven star on both sides of the pond might well generate a lot of return patrons especially if they are Sara fans. The big news will be that a caretaker company leader will have to be elected to replace David Hunter. |

I really like Sara’s SUTBM, but she sings it in a lower key than most of the other Jennas which might make it seem less impactful? Tbh her voice is the main draw for me. When I saw her in nyc, whilst I liked her Jenna, I did find it a bit exaggerated, so at times she felt more more like a caricature than a totally grounded character. But I’ve always personally preferred the less is more approach to the character. |

Booked tickets to see Sara. I saw her as Jenna on Broadway and she was phenomenal. Will be amazing to see her again!

Willemijn Verkaik has announced she will be playing Jenna in the German production - maybe a little older but she'll certainly play it well.

Not sure who was in for Jenna tonight (don’t think it was Lucie Jones) nailed it. Lovely vocals, great portrayal. Laura Baldwin is fantastic. Joe Sugg was... excellent!! Laura cracked up at one point and struggled to compose herself, much to the enjoyment of the audience.

Saw this in the week and really enjoyed it. It was so well produced and staged. Cast were great, Lucie singing She used to be mine was a stand out moment. Have to commend Laura and Sandra and Joe too who were all great. Surprised at how good Joe was. All in all a great show, better than I was expecting.
