The plot thickens. Surely it isn't true that Laura will understudy Ashley?
The Waitress social media team also just tweeted asking fans to "send love to your favourite waiter or waitress". No prizes for guessing who is getting mentioned in most of the replies. Here's a clue: they've just fired/demoted her for the summer. You really couldn't make it up.

Some people don't have the luxury of being able to afford to do that - and it looks as if she didn't have much notice of all of this mess! 10 weeks is not a long time to find a new job in any event, let alone in theatre. |

What would these performers say if the show closed and everyone was unemployed? Maybe sometimes it's better not to tweet and support your friend/co-worker privately? If this creates a negativity and people stop supporting the show, then I'm sure the effect of these tweets will be harsher than the thing that caused them. I also imagine that Laura will be getting paid while away (not that it makes it more acceptable), otherwise she wouldn't be coming back.
I'm gagging at his tweet, especially considering that he is an example of stunt casting.

This is what happened with Great Comet (although I know different factors were involved). I’m feeling bad for ALL the cast right now: - Laura obviously for getting benched - Ashley for being the collateral damage in all this and being unfairly treated as some worthless stunt casting - Lucie for probably not being able to fully enjoy her Jenna announcement with all this social media mess going on around her - Kat for having her last few weeks as Jenna being totally overshadowed - All the cast for clearly loving being on a show that everyone else is almost willing to fail right now |

People are entitled to feel that the producers have handled this badly, the unfortunate thing is that they are the ones who will never suffer and probably couldn't care less. The only way to hit them where it hurts is negative publicity for the show, and that does end up having the unfortunate effect of potentially impacting sales and therefore all the company and backstage staff. It's a vicious circle in which the only people who don't lose are the ones who caused the problem in the first place.

Whether they are able to see it or not is an entirely separate question as to whether it is behaviour that should be acceptable. The economics and the morality of this whole debacle are two entirely different things, and people are entitled to be upset about the latter while still seeing how the former might work. |

She is the fittest one though...then Nicole, then Melody, then the others (old lady redhead last) although rating a girl group on their hotness is appalling....Objectifying women in such a way is diabolical....etc.
