just did not go through!!! Have you used the website booking before? You have to 'grab' the seat with a cursor so it goes black (it can take a few clicks) and then click add to basket on the bottom of the page to give you 30 mins to check out. I've had problems going through the process sometimes - when I do I keep the ticket saved in my basket and phone the box office to check out by phone. Keep an eye on the NT site this week because I've noticed lots of returns popping up in the 48 hours or more before a performance. If you are using Firefox as a browser you can set the 'update scanner' to scan the page every 5 mins and it pings if there are returns added.

no, I have not tried to book anything before.....yes, it was difficult to select the seat but once I managed, I added to basket and proceeded to checkout and gave my payment details etc. and everything looked fine but the booking/payment just did not go through. it did not work.....I really do not know why this was all late in the evening so it was not possible to call the box office because it was already closed I will definitely keep an eye on the website this week and try to book again....I am not using Firefox

how were you able to book online? I tried like 7 times yesterday for Sat 23rd as well and it just did not go through!!! I have booked on the NT website but I have created an account before, with all my details, address and stuff so it was a gain of time. Since Thursday I was updating the website every half an hour to check returns. For a while it was only returns up to tuesday evening. And yesterday evening I was surprised to see a few tickets on saturday 23rd. it will come back there is a lot of returns, since Thursday Ive seen returns tickets for every single representation.

Yes, worth creating an account if you haven't already, and logging in before you try to book.

I really do not know why Yes, I've had that too. I think more tickets will pop up but maybe you could try checking out using another browser if it happens again?

good suggestions! thank you!!!
still - once you put tickets in the basket and it says you have 30 min to finish the purchase - how is it possible that someone else can also add it to the basket and try to buy it at the same time? I mean, should it not lock the system and let the first person buy the ticket?

that should not be possible. I had my ticket in the basket and my phone messed up (I was in lidl , grocery shopping when I saw I could buy tickets I think I forgot half the things on my list lol( so I closed and I get back to it and my ticket was not available to buy, it was still in my basket and I could 10 minutes later proceed to payment.

Keep an eye on here too, helpful people post when tickets appear. The last 2 times I've bought rather the national on the final confirmation it said there had been an error and transaction hadn't gone through but checked emails and they both had. One time site would only accept my credit card and not debit for some reason.

yes, I will keep an eye on here as well....hmm, this stuff about credit/debit card is interesting....I also heard from a friend they experienced problems based on the address they provided (that maybe it somehow did not match with the card or sth like that)....

Yes I had this issue too first. I used my home address when my billing address is different. Once I changed it to my billing address I was able to buy the ticket.

I think there must be a problem with my card (specifically for NT apparently).....I tried 3 different browsers and it will just not go through....probably they do not accept my debit card
so I think there is no point trying anymore
I will try to call the box office to learn more

You could try ringing later and explain your situation and that you don't often get chance to be in London so day seats aren't really an option for you - they may be able to help you. If you explain your a firs tim booker who knows, they may be sympathetic cos thy do want to encourage new people to visit.

It might be a silly option but is there a way you can ask a friend to pay with their card for you? On your account

you think people are still queuing up for the day tickets for 9:30am? do they even have any day tickets left since they are putting returns online?

Simply one of the worst afternoons I've had in a theatre. My thoughts are on my site for those interested, but I wish I'd read the programme before I saw it, to at least understand where the whole concept came from. It really isn't very clear from the play itself. The only other note I had was that I think it is lucky Blanchett appears to wax regularly. Now, I know the patriarchy (and indeed female sisterhood pressures) impose such painful conventions on women, but in this case I think it may have been the "Health and Safety" officer at the National who gave the instruction. I mean, the amount of horrible cheap nylon she was sliding around in, with any stubble, a serious bush fire could have broken out at any time; and she'd have gone up like a Roman Candle. The costume designer should be shot. For someone who attended the same performance as you, your opinion is indeed ‘special’ LOL 😂

I have read Pamela, presumably at university, though if it's like other things I have read/seen before I seem to have got to a point in life where I fail to remember much about it.
