I've been asked to recommend a show or play suitable for a friend, her partner, her American cousins visiting here and her daughter in July. So something lively, maybe funny but not silly. Anything Spring to mind?

I've been asked to recommend a show or play suitable for a friend, her partner, her American cousins visiting here and her daughter in July. So something lively, maybe funny but not silly. Anything Spring to mind? For an assortment of people of varying ages and tastes, like that, I might go for Tina - the Musical, on the proviso that you secure a ticket for a night Adrienne Warren is on. They will know the songs, they will see the songs transformed by context, they will see the future winner of the Best Actress in a Musical Olivier, they will see a World Premiere, and they will get a real kick out of it, and come out on a high. If a jukebox musical is below their taste level, "Nine Night" is the funniest show that "isn't silly," and I expect it to transfer. Cecilia Noble is a shoo-in for Best Supporting actress in a play, as well. I just don't know if it will transfer to fit your dates. 😊
