Just seen what (I hope) are two theatre related April Fools. First is that Rupaul the Musical is to launch on Broadway, with songs by Alan Menken and Kylie Minogue. Secondly Simon Cowel is to buy the Theatre Royal Haymarket to stage a revival of I Can't Sing, in which he will star. Anyone seen any others?

Well, there’s the report that @ryan is the love child of @parsley but that might not be fake. Of course I give it no credence.

Damn I forgot you guys do April Fools. Here in Spain we have a day like this at the end of December. Thanks for reminding me I shouldn't believe everything I read on British/American sites.

The Rick Astley jukebox musical starring Ricky Wilson is another one I have spotted:
A new Rick Astley jukebox musical is set to hit London’s West End this year, featuring a host of the pop sensation’s biggest hits.
Written by Ricky Gervais, who is writing a musical production for the first time, the show will be titled Strangers to Love and will tell the story of a rule-abiding couple who are ready to fully commit to each other, but despite their aching hearts, are too shy to admit their feelings.
Announcing the musical, Gervais said: “Rick and I have known each other for so long, and we’re been working on this for years. We never gave up, and we won’t let you down.”
The musical will star Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson making his West End debut as Rick. Hinting at what we can expect from the show, Wilson said: “I can’t wait for my character’s 15-minute keytar solo.”
Strangers to Love will feature all of Astley’s biggest hits, such as "Never Gonna Give You Up", as well as borrowing tunes from other artists such as Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary (Rolling on the River)” and Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin’”.
The full casting and creative team is yet to be confirmed, but it's rumoured that Royale Family’s Ricky Tomlinson will appear as Rick’s father Rick Snr., and the production will feature choreography from Ricky Martin, fight direction from Ricky Hatton, and orchestrations from Rick Wakeman

The RSC have announced their forthcoming production of Blade Runner the musical, complete with hideous artwork.Funny how the idea of musicalising something is an immediate joke.

The first one I saw when I looked at my phone this morning (before realising what day it was) was Ramin Karimloo leading the stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman

Looking forward to this,
BBC announces Joanna Lumley's "challenging" solo interpretation of Titus Andronicus will be broadcast to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday on 23 April.

^Oh please could they send Mickey Ball up there too? If you're not careful, @caiaphas will send you on a one-way trip to Mars, with Kate Bush's greatest hits playing in a loop on the capsule stereo.

Yes, couldn't believe it!! And that was ages ago, even with a couple of weeks off, so *surely* someone in the area of her radio show knew it was an April Fools?! Or was she in on it herself? Couldn't tell...but it was pretty embarrassing!!
