Hello all I just noticed the adverts at the top of theatre board which adchoices put on. Was wondering which ones other people have and what the advertisers are trying to sell to them? I think because I put my website onto my profile this got read as me loving golf and so American Golf Discount appeared, fair enough. But then I got an advert about first class airline travel to Japan and one from Maserati - I take the bus I'm not made of money! Then I got an oddly related one about 'swinging' from the Tate Modern. Wondering how far this will go, will I eventually get the type of swingers who want to exchange car keys? Before Dress Circle message board was taken down it was drowning in advertising spam, prom dresses from China and then adverts for cheap . viagra. Let's hope theatre board can keep this at bay. I sometimes get adverts elsewhere from Freeds dance shoes which I've clicked on and had a look. It's funny how these digital marketing companies try and work out what to try and flog you.

On another site I get many advertisements promoting food for my horse, which might be useful if I had a horse.

Nothing in life is free. I see ads for cake, big shoes, C&A pants and bananas. (Don’t tell him! 🐵 )
Embrace it.
Seriously though, the ads here are amongst the most unobtrusive I’ve seen anywhere. Ad revenue gives us freedoms that we wouldn’t have otherwise. Enjoy those competitions?
It all has to be paid for.

I *mostly* like the ads here, they're either theatre or things I've been googling, and there's obviously a LOT of overlap, so they make sense, and being at the top and bottom they're pretty unobtrusive. I wasn't super-fond of the UNICEF one that started popping up when Roger Moore died, it was the wrong size and threw everything else off, but the rest are fine. As ads go.

The ad's on here don't bother me, but on another site I seem to attract ad's for young Russian women who like older gentlemen. Well they're wasting their time then!

We've got two on our books at the moment:- Bella is 24 this coming Sunday. Looking to meet older 'gentlemen' who are willing to show her the world. Or we have Babushka (Ya Ya) who is 25. Loves partying with sly silver foxes. Please could you supply full name and address. ASAP.

So reading this correctly, the revenue from those advertising banners goes to 'Theatreboard' then? I always assumed the money would have gone to Proboard the hosts, who would receive the revenue from thousands of enthusiasm sites?

I get adverts for shows I've just booked for. Brief Encounter at the moment. Seems to be the usual thing for me - I buy, say, a mattress and I get mattress ads for the next six months. A bit of a waste of time if you ask me.

We buy out of the Proboards ads and source our own advertisers, the idea being that we make more from that than the cost of buying out of PB’s ads. When it works we get a bit of surplus which allows us to do extra things like the Christmas charity donations.

I feel left out as I don't get any ads. Is it because I use the theatre board on my phone rather than computer?

It currently wants me to buy a car or accounting software but I usually get the theatre ones with an odd other couple mixed in. Aside from when I slightly ham-fistedly click on them and cause them to leap out I barely notice them.
Unlike the time FB was advertising some kind of IVF and Twitter asking if I'd planned my funeral. Which was basically a message of 'TIME HAS RUN OUT FOR EVERYTHING' at me....

Facebook simply can't fathom the idea of a woman who's not living through the "married-babies-happily ever after" script, they've advertised SUCH a diverse range of dating sites for me. Like, they can tell I'm single, but they can't work out why, so... lesbian dating site? Jewish dating site? Uniformed-people dating site? Muslim dating site? Bless their hearts.

I haven't had the privilege of being blessed with adverts on here, probably due to having AdBlock installed.
However Tumblr has bypassed that and gives me ads for mobile war games, even though I never have and never will play those types of games in my entire life. But then I think everybody who has a Tumblr gets these ads, regardless of Internet history.

I'm getting Just Eat adverts.
Fortunately I'm not getting those "meet a hot girl tonight" ads. I'm seeing those on other sites. Obviously they don't know me, they are doing something wrong.
