Came out of the Crescent in Brum at about 3 today,where my daughter was doing a showcase and wandered around to Jimmy Spice’s and who is at the Symphony Hall’s rear exit (!),but JB himself chillin’ with the fans.What a guy! Effortless charm and warmth!

I was reading the local concert hall's brochure as I waited to have my monthly hair cut.
Mr Barrowman will be one of the judges on the new series of Dancing on Ice. He won't be able to declare any routine fab-u-lous, despite being the name of his tour and CD. Ironic really.
And although I don't monitor these things, at £220.35, his VIP tickets must surely be the most expensive on the circuit. (£196.75, plus a compulsory 12% booking fee.)

I don’t know. I do feel kinda bad for him. Shouldn't have been doing it, but then I think there’s a grey area when the role he played involved getting naked in one of his first episodes of Doctor Who with more nudity and sex scenes to follow in Torchwood. And it was all very openly spoken about as a joke at the time too, huge difference to what Noel Clarke is accused of.

I always thought it bizarre that everybody on 'Who' and 'Torchwood' treated it like it was a huge joke at the time. Presumably there were people who were uncomfortable about it, but if the powerful people are OK with it, nobody else felt they could object.
I think if he'd shown any awareness that he'd behaved inappropriately things might have gone differently for him, but he seems unable to acknowledge that he's done anything wrong.

I've met him a few times, and he's been very kind and engaging. He cranks up the personality when it's expected, and I've seen him hold a room of 2000 people in hysterics and applause. He's also very good about advocating for people who are marginalised or dispossessed, so I don't have a problem with him. He's been pretty clear about the bawdy behavior being done for laughs. Obviously the world is a different place than it was a decade ago, and I think a lot of men in the business understand standards are now changed. Anyone who's seen his Instagram is pretty used to seeing him baring his bottom. I'd feel more secure alone in a room with John Barrowman than Harvey Weinstein. |

Actually the answer is probably 'yes' as it's clear his antics were to entertain friends and colleagues (however misguided that might be) and not as a predator. So the question becomes should he get away with normalising behaviour that makes other people uncomfortable? If he'd held his hands up and made it clear that he understands this and is regretful of his actions then this would have been forgotten by now (IMO) - at least it should under normal circumstances. |

It’s hard to regret something that made people around you laugh and encourage you to do it more for years. Particularly when you had no ill intentions. If people around him hadn’t been laughing he wouldn’t have been doing it. That doesn’t make the behaviour right, of course (bullies often have an audience of sycophants laughing at their cruelty, for example). But it is confusing when people who claimed to find it hilarious (and many, many Who fans were entertained by those stories) are now condemning you for it. Also, I have to say I don’t think it is true that a sincere apology would make any difference to some - people enjoy their outrage and sense of moral superiority and self-righteousness too much. |

The only people he might possibly owe an apology to are those who were actually affected by his behaviour.
He doesn't owe anyone a grand public statement. He shouldn't be forced into a big interview where he can cry and beg forgiveness.
This is a private matter and only involves anyone who was genuinely affected by his behaviour. Keyboard warriors aren't owed anything.

Just listening to his Centre Stage album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Its rather good with some lovely MT tunes.
He does have a great voice.
