Oh how awful. I'm glad no-one was hurt but if Aaron Tveit needs someone to check him all over just in case. That's another restraining order on top of the many you have already!

Thanks for thinking about me, though! For partly selfish reasons, I must admit... I’m relying on your review as I’m keeping everything crossed this comes over to the U.K. soon!

I have to laugh or I would cry. Just finding out about the new dates - I booked flight and hotel (all paid and non refundable) for my summer holiday - yes - with ticket for Moulin Rouge for 8th July - two days before previews now start. I have to keep telling myself that in the grand scheme of live, this is not a biggie...but still a bummer.

I have to keep telling myself that in the grand scheme of live, this is not a biggie...but still a bummer. I feel your pain... I originally booked for the 5th. Was meant to leave Boston on the 9th, but somehow managed to re-book the tickets for the new first preview. So now I'm trying to sort out a new departure date and accommodation. What a nightmare. Still, happy I'm going to see it.

For all the queens who want to get close to the Tveit:
Moulin Rouge! The Musical Sparkling Diamond Seats Please note the following when purchasing $199 Moulin Rouge! The Musical: Sparkling Diamond VIP Table Seating: These seats are extremely close to the stage and often surrounded on all sides by the action and choreography of the play. Sparkling Diamond seating is divided into two cozy areas on either side of the Moulin Rouge runway (in what would commonly be the location of the orchestra pit).
Once the performance begins, your egress will be restricted by scenic bridges that are closed around the Sparkling Diamond seating area throughout much of the performance. Even when open, we ask that you do not leave your seat outside of the intermission except in an emergency so as not to disrupt the performance in progress. Please note that you will also be required to remain in your seat throughout the bows and the finale.
Sparkling Diamond ticketholders will need to arrive at the theater no later than 15 minutes prior to your curtain time in order to be seated before the start of the performance. After this time, at management’s sole discretion, any empty Sparkling Diamond locations may be offered to other patrons.
There will be no late seating in the Sparkling Diamond VIP area after the commencement of the performance due to the scenic obstruction and in order to insure the safety of the performers. The same policy will apply for the start of Act 2. If possible, you may be seated elsewhere in the theater until the intermission break (or for the duration of the performance), at management’s sole discretion.
You may not place ANY belongings, i.e. playbills, drinks, or food, on the passerelle/runways or stage at any time before or during the performance for the safety of the performers and the audience.

"Emotionally I really want people to leave the theater walking out on this high and believing that love can conquer all and that daring to love in the face of adversity is worth it." I'm guessing they've hacked the ended then and Satine doesn't die.

I'm guessing they've hacked the ended then and Satine doesn't die. Ugh. I don’t want a happy ending, it’s Moulin freaking Rouge! That’s the whole point. I really hope they keep the film ending. Maybe he means the general message, love does live on no matter what.

That's not how I read it. I think they'll basically give a big closing number after the curtain calls, like a medley or a reprise to end the evening. Sort of like I Wanna Dance With Somebody at The Bodyguard, where the show officially ends after I Will Always Love You, but you get a final upbeat production number to send you out happy on the streets.

Kind of like the medley thats in the film that closes the performance of 'Spectacular Spectacular!' ("No you cant fool the children of the revolution / my gift is my song / truth, beauty, freedom, love" / etc) just before the curtains close and Satine dies. (spoiler alert). A Reprise of the Reprise. There came a point as an overly emotional teenager re-watching the movie many times that I used to stop watching once the curtains closed (well skip to the next DVD chapter, which was the credits to the amazing Bolero closing song). It felt like a natural alternative place to end it if you wanted a high from the movie, so I guess in my mind I'd kind of become accustomed to a version of Moulin Rouge where she doesn't die, haha.

It's kind of hard to discern what any of this is.
